We welcome you to come and experience Goldberry Woods! We feature an 8-br inn, 3 cottages, and over 30 acres of gardens, woods, farm, orchard, trails, and river. New enclosed heated pool for winter! Our Creekside Cottage, which includes over 1,300 sq feet of space and offers 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, is nestled among farm and woods on our 30-acre property along the Galien River and backs up to a wooded ravine with a meandering creek. Breakfasts in the Inn may also be added, if available. Our Creekside Cottage sleeps 6 comfortably in bedrooms and another 2-4 in the living room on the fold-flat couches. There is a large new screen porch overlooking the woods/ravine/creek. The kitchen is outfitted with white cabinets and full-sized appliances and is well stocked with dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware. The dining area seats 10, with six guests at the table four more people at the breakfast bar. There is also a gas BBQ grill, fire pit, and picnic table as well. There is a $150 cleaning fee and $20/day fee per pet. Guests may also enjoy the hiking trails through the woods, borrow our canoes or kayaks on our river, play on our large play set (featuring swings, a slide, and climbing walls), borrow bikes to ride through the area, or play some of our yard games including badminton, bags, bocce, or horseshoes. We have owned and operated the Goldberry Woods since 2012 and have enjoyed it thoroughly! We have an organic farm, green house, fruit and nut orchard and lots of woods to explore! The cottage is located just one mile from Lake Michigan. Our 30 secluded acres offer a bit of quiet amongst the bustle of Harbor Country's busy summers. An entire day can be spent just on our property, kayaking or canoeing in the Galien River or hiking our trails. On our organic farm, we grow a little bit of everything that Michigan has to offer. Fall and Winter are also a great time to visit! We also offer our Goldberry Woods inn as a vacation rental (full use of inn and kitchen, but no breakfasts) for your larger group (sleeps 16-24+ people). Or add the Goldberry Woods River's Edge Cottage (sleeps 8-12), Innkeeper's House (sleeps 10-12), or a Vintage Camper, for a total capacity of 40-50+ people. Guests are welcome to explore our 30-acre property including walking our trails through the woods or along the river, kayaking or canoeing down the river, relax by our heated pool and hot tub, borrowing a bicycle to explore the beaches and back roads, walk through our organic farm to see what is growing, sit by a campfire on a cool evening, or play a game of bags, bocce, badminton, or volleyball. We typically check guests in, give them a quick tour, and answer any questions they may have (and can give suggestions on local restaurants, grocery stores, wineries, microbrews, shops, etc). We are one mile to the beaches of Lake Michigan (with incredible and peaceful sunsets)! Borrow our bikes to explore the backroads and nearby beach towns. We are in the center of Harbor Country and are very close to fantastic restaurants, wineries, microbrews, an organic distillery, botanical gardens, art studios, antique shops, a large casino, outlet shopping, golf, and of course the beaches and dunes along Lake Michigan! We are 5 minutes from the Amtrak station in New Buffalo, 30-40 minutes from South Bend airport, an hour from downtown Chicago, and 1.5 hours from O'Hare airport.
