You will find it at the end of a windy road at the top of the Buck Mountain private gated community. Inside the home you will find everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with a queen-size bed and a private full bathroom. Downstairs there is a spacious bedroom with twin bunkbeds and a queen-size bed with separate full bathroom and a washer and dryer. There is an additional queen-size futon downstairs and a pullout sofa-bed upstairs. The house can sleep 8 persons comfortably (overflow sleeping is possible). Guests can enjoy the upstairs living room with large gas fireplace or the open living area downstairs. Upstairs and downstairs have large flat-screen TV’s with live YouTube TV, Netflix, Amazon prime video and Amazon Music. We have listened to our guests that great TV is a priority. The internet is reliable and lightning fast! Enjoy 100 Mbps upload and 100 Mbps download speed. Work from home if you need to! Aside from great TV options, we hope you have come to enjoy the great outdoors and fabulous views. The upstairs porch has comfortable rocking chairs and a row of Adirondack chairs. The hummingbirds will provide entertainment. The downstairs porch has a large picnic table, comfortable chairs and a hot-tub with a view of the mountains. For your relaxation and enjoyment, there is a charcoal grill for cooking out and hammocks for resting in the great outdoors. There are private walkways to explore as well as a nature path in the woods. The fire pit is an amazing place to hang out together. Enjoy a friendly game of cornhole on the lower deck. There are so many windows and wildlife photographs that you will feel like you are outside when you are inside! The kitchen has been outfitted with every necessary appliance and convenience. A combination coffee maker is available for filter coffee or K-pods. There is a lovely rustic dining room. Hardwood floors enhance the luxurious cabin feel of the home. Every item is here to make your stay comfortable. You will need to provide food/drinks, and charcoal. We suggest that you do this before arriving, as the nearest grocery store is in Wilkesboro (over 30 minutes away). Once you are here, you won't want to leave! The home is about 40 minutes from downtown Boone, 30 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 50 minutes to Blowing Rock. Come and enjoy our home and make some memories. Longer-term rental available. *Note: on top of our usual thorough cleaning in between every group of guests, we are now disinfecting all frequently touched things such as light switches, door knobs, etc. We always wash all laundry between guests, clean all bathrooms with disinfectants, wipe down all kitchen areas with disinfectants, and vacuum and steam mop all floors. Sorry no off road vehicles (dirt bikes, ATV/UTV) allowed. This is against POA rules and is strictly reinforced by residents, significant fines are involved. -A facility for garbage disposal and recycling -A secure conference facility (requires a special code to enter) -Quiet hours are between 10pm-8am. This is a wilderness area and does have wildlife. Guests should exercise caution and common sense when enjoying the great outdoors. Small children should be supervised when outside. Due to our mountainous location, ladybugs and stink bugs are present. They are harmless though. The road is paved except for the last half-mile. This is gravel, but flat. The house is easily accessible, but please note that a 4-wheel drive vehicle would be preferable during the winter. The driveway is gravel. We would caution guests without a 4-wheel drive vehicle to park close to the house entrance. Although pets are allowed, we ask that you please keep them off of the furniture. Our property is about 45 minutes from Sky Retreat. Other things to note: Outdoor Security Cameras. There are outdoor cameras overlooking the driveway, backyard, and main entrance. These are not typically monitored. We live in an isolated area and it offers an extra measure of security. Please note, the garage is not included in this rental.
