Originally an old horse barn, the converted property now boasts an appealing mix of antique décor, fine artwork and modern-day appliances. We hope you will love our house as much as we do. We have a team of people on the ground who can help if any needs arise:-) Cornish is an old artists colony graced by such names as Maxfield Parish, Augustus St. Gaudens, and others from that time period. In our little neighborhood, we have roads that can be walked for miles with farms, horses, covered bridges, ponds, and the timeless scenery of New England. The nearest little town is Plainfield, which is about 1.5 miles from the house. There is a small general store and gas station there, a library, post office, auction house, and a few churches. If you keep driving down 12-A for 8 miles, you will reach West Lebanon, where there are numerous shopping centers, and everything you will need. In the other direction on 12-A, you will find the Cornish-Windsor covered bridge, and there is shopping in Windsor too. There is an Amtrak station in Windsor, Vt, just across the long covered bridge that spans the Connecticut River. There is a teeny little airport in West Lebanon that has flights from Boston.
