Equally close to the Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, grocery stores, coffee shops and restaurants. Open floor plan main level and 3 bedrooms upstairs. Private parking spot included. The space The house is designed for both comfort and convenience with an open floor plan and half bath on the first floor, 3 bedrooms, full bath, and washer/dryer upstairs. The house is very clean and decorated to provide an oasis from the city where you can kick back and relax with a large sectional sofa, reading nook by the sunny front bay window and a large kitchen with breakfast bar. The bedrooms have a king, queen, and twin bed with a trundle bed and all 3 bedrooms have blackout curtains. A pack and play is available for guests with infants. The bath has a full size tub. The kitchen has all the utensils you will need (coffee maker, blender, ice maker, etc) and the dining room table seats six very comfortably. Guests will also enjoy the 55-inch flat screen smart TV in the living room which includes local channels. There's Verizon Fios WiFi for you to use in my house and a stereo, games, books, etc. The location of the house is convenient to business and tourist travels alike: it's less than 2 blocks from the red line metro, commuter trains (VRE and MARC) that also provide access to BWI airport, and Amtrak. And you can walk to grocery stores, coffee houses, restaurants, the Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, Eastern Market, the H Street corridor, the museums on the Mall, and more. Rent a Capital BikeShare bike using the station around the corner or take a great run or walk through historic Capitol Hill. You don't need a car to stay here, but if you do bring your car, you can have access to the parking spot in the rear of the house. The backyard has a table and chairs for when the weather is nice and you want to enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine before dinner. The house is in a residential neighborhood. We have strict quiet hours (10pm-7am) and no party and loud/rowdy interaction rules (see house rules for more detail). Guest access Guests have the entire house to themselves. Please note that I (and my dogs) may stay in the separate basement apartment below the house during your stay. The two units have separate entrances. Other things to note The apartment below the house is where I (and my dogs) may stay during your visit. In addition, we are connected to neighbors on both sides. Given the proximity of city living, we ask that you are mindful of the neighbors and keep noise down including keeping the volume on the TV and music at a reasonable level and remove shoes when you enter the house and walk “gently” on the first floor since noise travels to the basement apartment. Also no jumping on or off any of the furniture in the house. Thank you for understanding. The house has stairs to get to the entryway and to the 2nd floor, where all the bedrooms are located. And -- sorry, but I can't accommodate pets or accept packages for you.
