Description

Located in the quintessential Stowe Village, just steps from Main St, this authentic farmhouse has sat atop Mountain Road for the past 150 years, making it an iconic piece of Stowe's history. The Farm Home is professionally designed and outfitted with today’s traveler in mind. Situated on an acre of land, you will wake up to the iconic village views of the Stowe steeple out your window as you sip your morning coffee. Our location truly cannot be beat. Follow along @thefarmhome for more photos! The space AMENITIES Outfitted with amenities that include: raised garden beds and micro-vineyard, outdoor fire pit & grill, patio dining, Sonos wireless speakers, and Smart TV (with complimentary YouTube TV subscription). In addition, we've partnered with local businesses & brands including Ursa Major all natural hair & skincare products and Carrier Roasting artisanal coffee, available for guests to enjoy during their stay. We offer luxury bedding and towels, compliments of our storefront, Farm Home Marketplace, located on Main St. In addition, we circulate fresh, clean air, inside the home with the Molekule Air purifier and Dyson Pure Cool Fan and follow a strict cleaning protocol, using all natural cleaning products within our home. HOUSE TOUR This 1864 farmhouse underwent a full renovation to create a unique hospitality experience for guests. You enter through the front door into the kitchen - the heart of the home. The full chef's kitchen, accented with cathedral ceilings + hand-hewn beams, provides guests with an upscale-cooking experience, down to the appliances + cutlery. Music + conversation flow freely as guests can cook and relax together within the open concept floor plan. A mudroom off the back of kitchen allows extra storage for those boots, coats, and gear. This 1688 sq ft home packs a lot of punch with 4 bedrooms with 2.5 baths. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed and is located downstairs through the sliding barn door off the living room. This loops around into the downstairs full bath, which boasts a 4ft clawfoot tub for stand-up showering or soaking for the kids. Up the old-fashioned split staircase, you'll find Bedroom 2 off to the left. Bedroom 2 offers two double beds, two closets and a dresser. Many guests comment on the sideways Vermont window, also referred to as a "witches window", historic to New England farmhouses of this era. Across the landing is the start of the upstairs hallway. Bedroom 3 is the Bunk Room, located off the back of the house. Built to withstand the weight of kids and adults alike, the two single beds provide sleeping arrangements for those looking to feel like a kid again. The closet in this room is one of the largest in the house and is where guests can find the Pack'N'Play if traveling with young children. Down the hallway through an antique pocket door, you'll find the powder room. This bathroom serves as a great option for night-time and morning routines. The recessed medicine cabinet offers additional storage for guests. At the end of the hallway, you'll enter Bedroom 4, the Primary Bedroom with a king bed and en-suite bath. This room has a reclaimed barn wood ceiling, a dresser, and a private bathroom that all guests will want to enjoy. The Primary Bath offers aged brass faucets and a vaulted shiplap shower with flush-entry. Ursa Major Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash are provided for all guests as well as soap, lotion, Qtips, cotton balls, first aid kit, and make-up towels. HEATING + COOLING The wood-burning stove is located in the Dining Room and provides a secondary source of heat during cold Vermont winters - cord wood is located in the basement. The NEST thermostat is located along the Dining Room wall and serves as the primary heat source. In the Living Room and Primary Bedroom, a mini-split can be used for additional heating + cooling in winter/summer months and is operated by a remote control. Fans are also provided if needed for white noise or additional cooling. SAFETY We welcome all guests, however we do not recommended booking this house if you're traveling with elderly or mobility impaired due to the staircase and shower access. Traveling with a baby? Houses built pre-1978 are at risk for Lead Paint. The house has a central staircase - please note baby gates are not provided.
