Welcome to your 1890 Cayuga Lake country retreat! This homey, well equipped escape combines rustic charm with lots of soul & gathering places. The airy architecturally designed king bed master suite is truly an oasis. A quiet backyard borders a scenic waterfront park and is a short walk from a marina, swimming area, fishing creek, trails & kayak rentals. Enjoy evening strolls & sunsets along the Lake or relax around the fire pit. A centrally located base to explore Ithaca & the Finger Lakes. The space The main level has several gathering spaces including a sunroom, living room , front room reading area , snack bar seating area as well as a dining room. A full bath , desk area as well as a spacious kitchen complete the downstairs space. The upstairs includes an architecturally designed King bed master suite with cathedral ceilings and views of Myers Park ( the local waterfront park) and two additional bedrooms with pine ceilings. There is second full bathroom, including a jacuzzi, on the upstairs level with access from the master bedroom or the hallway with sliding doors for privacy. The queen futon, located in the sunroom can accommodate two more people for sleeping as can the queen platform sofa bed located in the front sitting room. A fire pit seating area and picnic table provide outside gathering places. All waterfront and park amenities are within a 4-5 minute walk. Guest access Guests have access to the house and bbq, picnic table and hammock area in the quiet spacious backyard. Guests are also welcome to use laundry facilities in the attached common area in the wing attachment. Other things to note The main floor is cooled by an air conditioning unit located in the sunroom. The bedrooms all have their own window units. There is a grocery store within a 10 minute drive and public tennis courts ( 2/10th mile). The backyard borders Myers Park which has two marinas and an excellent playground plus a basketball court. Steps away you will discover a fishing creek, a waterfront park with a supervised swimming area, excellent playground , basketball court, lighthouse and kayak rentals as well as the Salt Point loop walking trail which winds along the shore of Cayuga lake and provides breathtaking sunset views. Salt Point Brewing company is a 4 minute drive away and there are several local restaurants close by. The largest mall in Ithaca is approximately a 10 minute drive. If you prefer a quiet scenic drive through the country side, I would recommend visiting one of the many wineries in the east side of the lake or heading to the quaint town of Aurora for a casual dinner at Fargo’s or a special dinner at the Aurora Inn. Downtown Ithaca is approximately a 15 minute drive and both Cornell and Ithaca College are close by. On rare occasions, late afternoon, you may hear the gentle whistle of a train, as it slowly chugs along the east side of the lake making its way from the salt mine, located a couple of miles away, to a switching station north of Salt Point.
