Mom's desire for a wrap-around porch and my wish for a turret, with its natural light and expansive views, were brought to life by a known and highly acclaimed architect and built by a local, reputable custom builder. Over the past 15 years, family members who were staying at the property waxed and waned as they went on to have their own homes prompting us to share this American Dream with others. It's heartwarming to witness others enjoy our home, even for a brief time. Chateau d'Amour aptly reflects the love that fills this space, dedicated to family and friends. The Space: Chateau d'Amour embodies luxurious yet relaxed living. Its sculptural facade and expansive verandas offer comfort and a warm welcome. Upon entry, an 80-foot view axis leads through the rotunda to the family room fireplace. The circular floor plan effortlessly connects the den, formal living room, kitchen, and formal dining through the butler's pantry. Access to the outdoors is provided by the covered outdoor dining and BBQ porch. The circular stairway in the rotunda leads to the spacious primary suite retreat. The upper floor includes a guest suite, two suites sharing the turret, and a large media room with a bar area. Despite its substantial 5,348 sq ft size, the home feels far from overwhelming exuding warm and cozy ambiance. Whether it's karaoke in the family room, piano in the formal living room, watching tv in the bonus room or playing pool /table tennis in the garage or dancing under the moonlight on the outside dance floor, each space is designed for enjoyment and privacy from other activities. Watching the changing seasons, from cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring to hummingbirds in summer, or fireflies at night or the golden leaves in the fall create a serene atmosphere. The property's bird feeding stations attract a variety of North Carolina birds. A telescope and binoculars enhance the experience. Other Important Details: The bedroom configurations upstairs include: Owners Suite - king-size bed 2nd BR - queen-size bed with a twin trundle bed 3rd BR right of turret - 2 queen-size beds 4th BR left of turret - king size bed and a settee Bonus room - sectional sofa with a pull out queen bed. One can sleep on the other side of the sofa and one can have an airbed here as well. Office on 1st Floor - turned into a bedroom has a queen size bed. No full bath on first floor. The home can accomodate up to 16 people each one would have a bed. Four more people could be added with extra guest fee. They would have to use some of the couches or bring air beds and linens themselves. The turret can have an airbed and the owners suite has a sitting room which can also have an airbed. We may be able to lend some extra blankets and pillows for the extra guests but cannot always guarantee so just try to bring some for your extra guests. Coming from a big family, we understand how it is to get everyone in one roof. Just let us know exactly how many people outside of 16 are staying in the home. Micro events with a maximum of 30 guests are allowed for a $1000 fee. Rehearsal dinners, Sunday brunch, business meetings, retreats, friends and family reunions are allowed. No DJ muic allowed outside nor loud outside noise beyond 9PM. No outside tents are permitted outside. The property is fenced upfront only with a custom-designed wrought iron gate at the front, manually operated at this time, for added security. Security cameras are recently installed with one by the front door, another in the left corner of the house. There are no indoor cameras. The water source is a 200 ft deep well, tested for lead, nitrate, and nitrate. The home has also been tested for radon gas, with no issues detected. The grass is a mix of wild grass and Bermuda, and no chemical fertilizer is used. It is alright to park on the grass infront of the house. No vehicles allowed in the back of the home due to leach fields. The tankless water heater outside the side door may take a few minutes to deliver hot water to the bedrooms above. Let it run, and hot water will reach those areas eventually. We know that you will take care of this home like we do. Please ask guests with pointed heels to make sure no nail is sticking out to keep the wood floors looking good. Also be concientious of rolling heavy luggage on the floors. No outside shoes on the second floor to keep second floor free from dirt. Please bring house shoes. We appreciate the care you will give this home. Thank you for choosing to stay at Chateau d/Amour. Guests have access to all areas of the home except for the larger master closet, the storage room off the bonus room will be secured. Currently, only the two-car portion of the attached four-car garage is available for use as the pool and pingpong table occupies the other side. The detached garage is being finished as an ADU (additional dwelling unit) at the moment and will be completed sometime around the first two weeks in August 2024. I may be already occupying this property after that time. I do understand the importance of privacy so will absolutely give you the utmost space so you will enjoy and feel at home. I am currently renting a home 2 miles from it and am there when help is needed. Interaction with Guests: Upon arrival, you will be shown around the house by the caretakers. Otherwise, you will be given a code to enter the front door of the property. There is a separate code for the side door. There is no key. Please use the front door first, leave your luggage after the caretakers orient you with the home. Any questions or help to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable will be made. We would like for you to feel at home. Luxurious country setting in high end area only a few minutes from shopping and restaurants. Harris Teether, Food Lion and Target are the nearest grocery stores. Whole Foods is about 18 min away. Wakefield, Heritage and the Market of Wake Forest, downtown Wake Forest has lots of restaurant choices. Joyner Park is a beautiful park with 2 mile trails going through pecan groves and old barns. Falls Lake is just a mile down the road from the home. Brevofield golf course is just a mile up the road. 30 minutes to downtown Raleigh, Cary and 40 minutes to Durham, about 55 minutes to Chapel Hill. Yes, it may not be that close to the happening places but if quite, privacy and luxury setting is what you seek, Chateau d'Amour is one of a kind. The property is only available for staying guests so if it is expected that there will be a gathering of staying guests and non staying guests, please let us know because this will be considered a micro event unless it just is a few (1-5) people dropping by. We do not accept any requests for chefs using the home for a cooking show, car shows, tv or movie shows nor childrens parties. At no time that any pictures of the prperty will be used for advertising or commercial pusposes without owners consent. If you are expecting non guests to come during your stay, please reach out to us first to make sure that we can accomodate them. The property is not available for events only. It is available for staying guests only.
