Go whitewater rafting, or fishing along the old logging roads by the house. When you return, the comforts of home will be waiting for you. Our cabin is a unique vacation home. I trust that you will enjoy your stay and come back soon! The neighborhood: There is a Walmart in the town of Sylva a few miles east, as well as craft and antique shops in nearby Dillsboro. Headed west, near Franklin, you will find Harrah’s Cherokee casino. Visit a real gem mine, such as Mason’s, in the Cowee Valley. Try rafting in Nantahala, or take a drive over the mountain to Gaitlinburg and Pigeon Forge, where you can go horseback riding. You might want to go skiing in Cataloochee, depending on the season, of course! Just as you pass through downtown Sylva, on your right you will come to the market, where you can purchase freshly-laid eggs, as well as all kinds of fruits and vegetables and jams and jellies. For fine dining, try Ruth Chris Steak House at Harrah’s, the buffet at the casino, or a number of other good restaurants.
