Totally refurbished in 2021 it offers relaxing holiday accommodation for families or couples, with muted colours and tasteful soft furnishings. A perfect base from which to explore the rugged beauty of the nearby Angus Glens. Tarfside and Glenesk are good starting points for some excellent walks amongst stunning scenery and diverse wildlife. Travel the length of the Victorian Heritage Trail, passing through Fettercairn with its Gothic Arch and local distillery (where tours can be taken) up through Cairn o’ Mount and into Royal Deeside, ending at Balmoral Castle, or spend relaxing days at the fine sandy beaches at St Cyrus, Lunan Bay and Montrose. There is ample fishing and golf in the area as well as some good eating places, or why not visit some of the stately homes including Glamis Castle.
