Built in 1677 the Major Thomas Fenner House is the oldest home in the Providence Plantations and one of the few original “stone enders” in existence. The 2400 sqft 4 BD 2 BA home sits on ~3 acres of land siding to Stone Pond. In the event that we already have a guest checking out on the day you are checking in, or checking in on the day you are checking out we will need to adjust the check-in or check-out time by one hour to allow sufficient time for the Housekeeper. The Fenner House is very well kept and clean. It has internet, four TVS, an updated kitchen and bathrooms, but in keeping with its original character it is a colonial rustic farmhouse. The 5th "bedroom" is not a true bedroom. It has no door and guests in bedrooms #3 and #4 pass through it to reach the bathroom. We use a keyless entry system. No need to pick up, drop off or lose keys! The code for your stay will be given to you prior to arrival. After reading the Instructions if there is a problem or question you need answered please e-mail or call (Home Office or Cell) Once you turn down the long drive from a 1970s residential neighborhood you will be transported into the past. There are some good restaurant choices very nearby and a plethora in Providence only 5.5 miles away. The Airport is ony 15 miles away and there is a train and bus staion in Providence, but your best means of transporation will be by car. Only 5.7 miles from Brown, 6.1 miles from Providence College, 5.3 miles from Johnson and Wales, 5.5 miles from the Rhode Island School of Design and 5.6 miles from downtown Providence. With the exception of certain Premium Dates we only accept reservations of less than 7 days when the arrival date is within 30 days, unless we have other guests immediately preceding or following the requested stay. We do this so we don't eliminate guests looking for stays of 7 days or longer. If you are still searching for accommodations as it gets closer to your arrival please check our calendar.
