We also provide a stand-up paddle board. The Linville River flows through the resort (no kayaking on the river in the resort - lake only). Great trout fishing (regularly stocked) - river and lake (resort fishing license required). Enjoy great hiking around the lake or along the river. The resort also has paddle boats for the lake. Beautiful 18 hole golf course, tennis courts, hiking. The nearby community of Pineola (5 minutes away) has a great Italian, Mexican, and BBQ restaurant (with a fish fry on most Friday nights). The fourth bedroom (bunkroom) is separate from the main home. It is on the deck, about 10 feet out the back door. The home has thermostatically controlled electric baseboard heat. No air conditioning in home (open the windows and screen doors and enjoy the mountain fresh air and breeze!). Internet speed: 482 Mbps, excellent for remote learning/work, zoom, streaming, etc. Strict NO PETS - they WILL be reported and you will have to leave. No smoking/vaping. No illegal substances. No parties (the Sheriff WILL be called). 4 cable flat screen TVs, three Roku streaming devices. Second floor has a down sloping ceiling on one side of each room which is a "head hitting" hazard. Some resort amenities are only open in the summer (such as the heated pool). The resort has a game room (at the pool). Other things to note Free high speed WIFI! Linens (sheets and towels) are provided. Check-in and check-out instructions are on the fridge. There is a washer and dryer in the home. We try to keep the home stocked with all the essentials you need. Please note that the sleeping loft does not have a door (so limited privacy). Neither the sleeping loft nor the bunkroom on the deck have a closet (just FYI). Release of liability: we go to great lengths to ensure your stay is enjoyable and safe. Guests are responsible to conduct safety checks of recreational equipment such as kayaks and paddle boards before use, and use is at own risk. The home contains stairs and low ceilings on the second level (head hitting hazard). The home is in a natural setting with a steep hill behind the home (with a lake at the bottom of the hill). One example: bears, while rare, have occasionally been sighted in the resort. When guests book their stay, they and all group members agree to waive all liability in case of personal injury.
