“The Cottage” vacation home is set on the island of Jamestown surrounded by the waters of Narragansett Bay & just a 10 min. drive to Newport. It has comfortable accommodations ,for 4 people in 2 bdrms. It's fully equipped for your enjoyment & comfort, set in a quiet neighborhood, just a short bicycle ride to the town center & a short walk to the shoreline. Treat yourself to a tranquil island vacation in an area rich in history & bounding with outdoor activities. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen with all utensils for preparing and serving meals. Dishwasher, oven/range, refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom is smaller (but adequate) with shower (and an outside hot shower at back deck). Living room also serves as area for eating with a dining table / chairs and sofa and several additional chairs for relaxing and TV time. Window AC units are in the living room & larger bedroom. Laundry machines are in the basement for guests' use as needed. A nice back deck for afternoon relax time with a Weber gas grill, deck table, sunbrella and chairs. Very private back yard and deck area. This is a great place as a quieter alternative to a busier town but with very quick access to those areas. Jamestown's a great place for bicycle riding, boating, beaching / swimming, kayaking, walking, fishing, golfing or doing nothing. Quality restaurants, coffee shops, bakery's, marina's and parks create a genuine village feeling at the town center. There are several swimming areas and a small boat launch very close by. Bicycle & kayak rentals are available in town as well as charter fishing boat services . An 18 hole golf course is 5 minutes down the road. Guests can also catch a ride on the Block Island Ferry from Newport or the Martha’s Vineyard Ferry from North Kingstown – (20 minute drive). Guests can call the owner anytime for questions. I have been successfully hosting the cottage for 10 years with excellent ratings. You will not be disturbed by the owner unless you request assistance. I live in Newport with my wife and are a short drive away. The cottage is located on a local paved road in a strictly residential area, wooded lot next door and a few small houses in the area. Community farm is a short walk up the road, waterfront access a short walk down the street ( stony / gravel shoreline). A car is strongly recommended, the area is great for bicycling (cottage is located on route of annual bicycle road race), no traffic lights in Jamestown! Guests are asked to bring their own bed sheets , towels and beach towels. Otherwise we can provide for additional $70.
