Villa Pacheca' is an impressive country house 150 years old, located in a very special enclave overlooking the Pasiegos Valleys of Cantabria, which makes it unique. It has 300 m2 in its entirety, respecting its original mountain construction (the most traditional in Cantabria since the XVI century) with oak wood, ashlar stone and thick masonry walls. Completely restored with the best materials and respecting its original architecture, it has a special aura. The space The villa has 300 m2, distributed on two floors and a renovated attic converted into a large and beautiful bedroom. On the first floor there is a large entrance hall, the kitchen with access to the back garden, a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower and an imposing living room of over 70m2 with a large fireplace and a library on two levels with more than 500 books. On the upper floor there are two bathrooms, one with bathtub and one with shower and the rest of the bedrooms, all of them doubles. The largest room has an en suite bathroom, a large balcony overlooking the valley and double height where the highest room in the house is located. Ideal for children. Guest access Parking is not allowed inside the property. There is a public parking lot (not roofed) less than 100 m. away that has ample space to park without any problem. To unload the trolley, suitcase, bags, etc. we recommend parking in front of the house, right on the ramp, to bring things closer, but we ask that you please park in the free parking lot which is a 2 minute walk away. Other things to note Every morning two bakers pass through the village in their vans, the first at 08:30 and the second around 11:30, both beeping as they pass by the house. Ideal to have freshly baked bread without leaving home, for breakfast and / or lunch. Just 500 m. from the house is the Via Verde, a 34 km. path adapted for walking, jogging or cycling enjoying the Pasiegos Valleys and the fresh air of Cantabria. In addition, 7 minutes drive from the house is the park of Alceda, a beautiful and huge green park where you can enjoy many activities with children and family. In both Alceda and Ontaneda (both 8 minutes by car) there are all kinds of services such as supermarket, fishmonger, laundry, health center, restaurants, bars, pharmacy, banks, etc.). In addition, in several local stores you can buy the traditional sobaos pasiegos and quesadas pasiegas so typical of this region and known throughout Spain. Also in Ontaneda is the famous Helados López (open only in summer and some weekends in spring and autumn) whose popular cheese ice cream attracts people from all over Cantabria (and abroad!!). Mind you, better have some patience for the queue, but it will be worth it :) Recommended bars: Café Albert, their omelettes and burgers are to die for. Recommended restaurants: - El Molino de Vejorís. Outside grill when the weather is nice, inside dining room with fireplace all the time. Delicious menus, good price and excellent treatment, they are very nice. - Casa Augusto: very complete menu of the day for 15€. One of the best in the Valles Pasiegos.
