Located next to Nanzen-ji Temple in Kyoto’s historic Higashiyama area, Kyoto Garden Ryokan Yachiyo is a traditional wooden Japanese inn featuring classic Japanese architecture, tatami-mat guest rooms, and an onsen-style public bath. The large bath can also be reserved for private use, accommodating a wide range of guest needs. The ryokan is surrounded by beautiful Japanese gardens that change with the seasons, and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Guest rooms offer a calm and relaxing atmosphere and are furnished with tatami flooring, futon bedding, or Hollywood twin beds. All rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV. Rooms in the main building enjoy views of the garden, and some rooms feature a private garden-view bathroom. During your stay, guests may unwind in the public bath or relax in the lounge, which is equipped with free internet PCs. Massage services are available at an additional charge. Complimentary luggage storage and an on-site gift shop are also provided. JR Kyoto Station is approximately a 25-minute drive or taxi ride away. Eikando Temple and Heian Shrine are within a 10-minute walk, while the world-famous Kiyomizu-dera Temple can be reached in about 15 minutes by taxi. The on-site restaurant overlooking the garden serves delicately prepared traditional Japanese cuisine and premium Wagyu beef dishes. Vegetarian kaiseki meals are available, and other dietary requests can be accommodated whenever possible. An air-conditioned room that features views of bamboo trees in the garden, from its sliding glass doors that lead to the balcony area. This traditional Japanese room is fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and futon bedding. The bathtub is made of Japanese hinoki wood. The room comes with a flat-screen TV, WiFi connection, an Apple TV, an induction heater, a hairdryer and nightwear robes. An in-room safe is also provided. Built in 1890, this room was last renovated in 2016. In January 2025, we upgraded the Japanese futons in all guest rooms.
