Lakefront, private cove w/ creek

Now pet friendly. A perfect waterfront playground to forget your worries while immersed in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Pisgah National Forest. Direct water access to Lake James for swimming, kayaking, or canoeing. Enjoy Dales Creek, which feeds mountain water into the lake. Whether swimming, paddling, fishing, or wading in the creek, there is no shortage of wildlife and flora to enjoy. Picnic and BBQ at the pavilion and relax by bonfires in the evenings. The space *New! We are now pet friendly for up to two dogs. No cats please. Please see pet guidelines. 1-Dogs should be under 50 lbs and house trained. 2- Dogs should be leashed and not allowed to roam, due to wildlife in the area. Guests will need to clean up after their pets. 3- Dogs should be crated if ever left alone inside the home. 4- Guests should use the provided pet covers in the home to prevent wear and tear to furniture. All covers are washed between stays. Any damages from pets will be deducted from the security deposit, which is separate from the pet fee and non-refundable. **Please ask Host about water access and grounds post storm. We are working to restore the pathways so our guests can enjoy our wonderful retreat. First Floor: Living Room/Dining Room, kitchen, hall with 2 bedrooms and a full hall bath. Bedroom with twin bunks has private door out to the screen porch and rear deck. Upper level: Open Loft with daybed, Master bedroom with ensuite bath. Exterior decking on front and rear. Rear deck has screen porch and lower decking with table and grill. Under the stariwell on the ground level is the storage and mechanical room. There is an outdoor shower on the back side of the storage room off the parking pad. Behind the house is the pavillion and 2 different firepits. Firewood is included but check the notebook for notes on the indoor woodstove. Not all firewood should be used inside. The kayak and canoes are stored on a rack between the pavillion and cove. Other things to note Our property does not have a dock and is in a protected cove. During storms or high rain periods, the water will rise between the shore and pavillion. We work year round to keep the pathways as clear as possible. Please ask the host about current conditions if concerned.
