The beautifully restored gatehouse stands at the entrance to a 16th-century stately home and England's biggest rewilding project: Broughton Sanctuary. Which you might recognise as the setting for TV's Gentleman Jack and All Creatures Great and Small! This one-of-a-kind holiday let gives you special access to our Estate, so you can reconnect with nature as you climb rolling hillsides, cycle forest pathways, go wild swimming and take in mountain views from untamed moorland. It’s 3,000 acres of natural bliss and it’s all yours to explore! The space With theatrical architecture and a parkland setting, the gatehouse looks wonderfully eccentric. But inside, it’s simply warm and welcoming thanks to its cosy furnishings and bright decor. The living room offers beautiful views over the Estate and has its own wood burner – the ideal companion for winter afternoons with your favourite book. Although the kitchen is small, it comes with all the essentials you need for a getaway in the great outdoors, including a separate utility room with a washing machine. The two bedrooms feature super king size beds and share a bathroom with a luxurious, traditional slipper bath. The setting There’s more to Broughton Sanctuary than natural wilderness and incredible scenery. We have activities to help you interact with and learn from nature too, like forest bathing, moon baths, scavenger hunts, and bushcraft lessons. Transformative treatments are available at Avalon, our wellbeing centre and yoga retreat, and nutritious, natural meals are served at our on-site bistro, Utopia.
