Minutes from Frankfort, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Traverse City — ideal for memorable family getaways. The space Step outside and you’re on the water — your own private stretch of Upper Herring Lake. Enjoy kayaks, a pedal boat, private dock, lakeside fire pit, and swing set. This is an all - sports lake, ideal for boating, fishing, and classic summer fun. Inside, the home blends warm cottage character with durability and comfort: hardwood floors, ceramic tile, tongue-and-groove pine, and relaxed lakehouse décor. The layout is designed for families, with separate spaces so adults can unwind while kids play. The cozy sunken living room adds charm and personality (note: not ideal for guests with mobility concerns). You’re just minutes from Lake Michigan beaches, Frankfort, Benzonia, and Beulah, with easy access to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, and the Platte River. Entertainment includes HD Roku TVs, a gas log stove for winter stays (Thanksgiving – March), a game room with PS2 and games, puzzles, board games, and a DVD library. Sleeping note: Bedrooms 3 and 4 include twin cots (listed as floor mattresses due to Airbnb limitations). Please plan accordingly for larger groups. Starter supplies are provided—guests should bring extra consumables and beach gear. Guest access You are renting the entire home, a private water front. Everything but the cleaning closet! : ) *This includes use of kayaks (May 1st til Nov 1st), and peddle boat(April 1st til Nov 15th), Boat dock (Mid May-Nov 1st). Other things to note We offer a starter supply of Paper Towel, Toilet Paper, Hand Soap, Laundry Detergent, Dishwasher Detergent, and Trash Bags. You will likely need to bring more. Things to bring!   - Paper towels, toilet paper, standard kitchen garbage bags, coffee filters - 12 cup standard size (not cone) - Shampoo, hand soap, laundry detergent and dish washer detergent - Cell phone - Charcoal, aluminum foil, lighter fluid and lighter for the grill. - Beach towels (for summer guests) - Couple of extra blankets (for our winter guests) - Bottled water, if you do not prefer well water - A bundle of firewood, if you would like a campfire. - Life preservers for your kids - For our winter guests we recommend bringing an all-wheel-drive vehicle or at the very least a front wheel drive with good snow tires.
