Take a step back in time in this Historic Turn-of-the-Century Real Log Cabin. This authentic log cabin is decorated with vintage Smokey Mountain antiques. Built in 1928 and completely renovated in 2015, we were able to restore the original luster of the hand hewed logs and stone fireplace then we added few modern conveniences. We remodeled the kitchen & the new bathroom features an amazing stone shower. A new queen size bed and new pillow top mattress will ensure a perfectly comfortable stay. Hickory Nut Lodge is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath real log cabin. It is located 15 miles from Asheville, 7 miles from Chimney Rock & Lake Lure in a beautiful mountain community. The community was founded in the early 1920's by the "well to do" of the time seeking a summertime retreat. The cabin survived the great depression and is now restored to it original beauty. And, it's full of spicy folklore! PLEASE NOTE: The front door is on the upper level. The door on the lower level is your laundry room. There are 10 steps to the front door. We have a parking space for one (1) car only, it's right in front of the cabin. You can enjoy the beautiful mountain view from your front porch, enjoy a home cooked barbecue on the deck or relax under the stars in your own private hot tub.
