Halcyon Escape: Step Back in Time!

PLEASE NOTE!! Due to the hurricane, we are not up and running yet. However, if you're desperate, contact us; maybe we can work something out. This apartment is in an “in-town" premier home. Depending on your state of mind, you can walk down to The Dock, the beach, or Main St. in 5 minutes. This beautifully appointed 4th-floor apartment is in the heart of everything but quiet and directly across from the water with the best views in town! There is a 3-day minimum for holidays & festivals. The space You will use a back door entrance to an interior elevator room in order to access the apartment. Your parking is on a gravel area alongside the white fence near that entrance, off First Street. NOTE: The town fills up on weekends so if you need to park a boat trailer there is an additional spot for that but we rent those out so we need to know at the time of booking. There is an additional $25 fee per day for trailer parking on holidays. There are no cameras or alarms (other than smoke detectors and CO2 detectors) INSIDE the apartment but other areas are alarmed and monitored. PLEASE NOTE: the two doors that provide access to the main house are ALARMED and MONITORED and if the doors are opened and the emergency services are called without an emergency there will be a fine of $500. These doors are fire exits for the apartment and should ONLY be opened in the case of that type of emergency. Note: OUTSIDE DESTROYED DURING HURRICANE. House 💯 ok! There is a beautiful outdoor area with a pool, a Jacuzzi, and a fire pit. Access to the pool is part of your rental but the jacuzzi and fire pit ARE NOT part of your rental. (We will possibly consider access with an additional "resort fee" for rentals of a week or more by request IF it is convenient for our family at the time of your rental.) At this time we do NOT ever permit pets and we also generally do not permit children based on negative past experiences. We will consider special requests but this is an adult apartment, not child or animal proofed. Children are never permitted in the elevator or small terraces without an adult’s full attention. The terrace doors should remained locked when not in use. The occupancy is limited to three but we will consider a forth upon request. This is an exclusive property in our home, and we appreciate your respecting these limits. The apartment is cleaned carefully between guests for your protection. We appreciate your feedback if something needs to be cleaned or repaired; please notify us immediately. Guest access You will have access to the elevator and the apartment and the pool. There is no use of the fire pit. Other things to note You will be given the current code to the back door closer to your arrival. H There are notes on the elevator doors that will assure the safe and best use of it. There is a phone in it just in case you don’t have your cell with you and you have an emergency. *Please always shut the cage door completely (especially the top which can lag behind slightly and cause a racquet if not shut completely) do this whether riding in the elevator or departing it to go into apartment or out of the house. If you don’t not shut the gate or pull/push the doors shut the elevator does not run. This can be problematic if my elderly mom needs it so just be sure to close the gate and shut the door so the elevator can be called. Our floors are locked so you won’t have access. Do not open the doors to the hall (emergency exit) unless you are having an emergency…the alarm is BLARING and cops come. If we are charged we pass that expense along to you. AGAIN: *Never leave the gate open, solid door ajar, or the light on in the elevator. *Always close and push/pull shut the solid door well. *If you do not do these things it is impossible to "call" the elevator; it will remain where it is can cannot be called.
