The space Beautifully renovated craftsman bungalow just a block from Cabbagetown Park, one of downtown Atlanta's hidden treasures and home to one of the city's best festivals: Chomp 'n Stomp. The home sits in the heart of Atlanta’s hippest neighborhood for artists and young families. The 1.600 square-foot house--with twelve foot ceilings and heart of pine floors--was built in the 1920s and renovated in 2008 and again in 2022. It offers two ample bedrooms--one newly lofted + spiral staircase--with queen beds and their own baths. Also, a large, open and well-stocked cook's kitchen, a big backyard with custom fire pit + wood-fired sauna + outdoor shower, and a sprawling front porch for taking in the always interesting scene on Kirkwood Avenue. Art and plants throughout the house. Edible garden, too! The open floor plan is ideal for family dinner. Gather around the oversized farmhouse table crafted from 1930s boxcar wood, surrounded by Pella windows. In the warmer months, open the front and back doors to enjoy fresh air flowing through the house. In the fall, winter and even spring, enjoy the custom firepit + wood-fired Finnish sauna made from imported cedar. Barbecue year-round using the Weber charcoal grill in the private backyard, where a Japanese Maple and a dozen Rosemary bushes grow. This is a special house, a refuge in the heart of Atlanta located within walking distance of a half dozen bars (97 Estoria, Carroll Street Cafe, Jen Chan's, Ticonderoga Club), great restaurants (Bocca Lupo, Ammaza, Superica, Agave, Little Tart, Ladybird, Rathbun Steakhouse, Gunshow) a small grocery store (Little's), three parks (including Grant Park), and Atlanta's zoo. Phillips arena (where the Hawks play) is a short bike ride away. MARTA--the local train system--is about 3/4 of a mile from the house. I can occasionally give rides. Amenities: -Cook’s kitchen with high quality oven and stove, dishwasher, pots and pans, toaster, pour-over coffee, orange juicer, Vitamix blender, hefty utensils, etc. -Pantry staples, such as sugar, flour, coffee, olive oil, vinegars, spices, etc. -Weber charcoal grill -Fire pit -Wood-fired Finnish sauna (*must check w/ owner before using) -Washer/Dryer -Large front and back porches with seating areas -Boxcar wood table for eight -Projector for Netflix, etc, on the living room wall -Free high speed wireless internet, Sonos sound system, record player -Towels and linens -Central AC and heat Other notes: -This is my primary residence. Please treat my house as you would your own. I won’t be on the property during your stay except, occasionally, to hand over the keys and say hello. -Small dinner gatherings are welcome, but no parties, please. -No smoking anywhere on the property, please. Guest access Everything in the house. Other things to note Unless otherwise agreed upon, check-in is after 4pm, and check-out is by 11am.
