A quick walk/drive up the Grand/Ramsey hill and you have shopping and even greater diversity of ethnic foods on Grand Ave or Selby. Historic home tours on Summit, including James J Hill House. West down W7th is organic local food coop (Mississippi Market), High Bridge dog park, and more. East toward downtown through Irvine Park down to river or past Waldmann Brewery up over high bridge on Smith Ave for fantastic views; down to Harriet Island, where there is boating and outdoor rec and a great restaurant on river. The people in the West End make it feel like a small town though downtown is close by. Several area hospitals within walking. A true gem.
