Darby Cabin is a beautiful a-frame cabin upstate just 2 hours from New York City, with a gorgeous drive over Hawks Nest Highway! The cabin is tucked away making it a perfect getaway for one/two couples or a family looking for adventure. Picture starting your day with coffee on the deck, adventuring down the Delaware River, hiking local trails, exploring cute neighboring towns/restaurants/breweries etc, and closing the day with a drink by the firepit under the stars. Darby Cabin features a breathtaking and spacious cathedral-esque grand room facing the woods that is perfect for hanging out, working from home, playing games, dinner around the table and making memories! There are 2 bedrooms (one king, one queen) and 2 full bathrooms at Darby Cabin. The master bedroom and en-suite are downstairs and open up onto the porch - it is chic, cool and private. The second bedroom is super cozy and up in the lofted space above the living room. The living room couch also folds into a single bed if you needed to squeeze one more in! Please note there is no AC (working on it!) but there are fans and ceiling fans. For the fall/winter we have central heating. Please note we have chosen not to have a TV up there so you can fully retreat :) The kitchen is a wonderful space to cook in, and looks out onto the top deck and driveway. It comes complete with all essential items you need for cooking! There is a large fridge and freezer, dishwasher, oven, coffee maker (for ground coffee) and a microwave. Lastly, the outside space! There is a deck on the upper level where you enter the house, complete with charcoal grill, and a porch for that morning coffee downstairs off the bedroom that leads onto a beautiful wooden deck. There is a picnic bench down there which seats 6 for dinner right next to the firepit! The home is nestled in 10 acres of woods, but close to the main road for easy access and Barryville / Narrowsburg for supplies. You can park 2 cars on the driveway. And... bonus! We have 4 tubes and life jackets you can use for adventuring down the river in the summer. Oh and cornhole for the deck :) You have access to the full house and grounds while you are here! We will be readily available by phone for any questions guests have to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable getaway! We have someone local to come over should that be needed. As you approach Darby Cabin from NYC you will drive over the Hawks Nest Highway (very Cali!) high above the Delaware River and the views are astounding. While the house is private and tucked away, we are located just 7min from Barryville where you can visit the Barryville General for local supplies, Stickett Inn for a cocktail, the Farmers Market on Saturdays (May-Oct), The Blue Fox for dinner, and Barryville Bottle for liquor/wine. We are also 25min from Narrowsburg - an adorable town perfect for an afternoon out! The Launderette for pizza is our favorite. And if getting out on the river is your thing in summer, there are a ton of options for rafting/tubing and it's so much fun floating down the river on a glorious afternoon. There are some great local hikes too. We recommend that you drive here - so you get to experience Hawks Nest highway! - and so you can easily head out to the neighboring towns and activities. That said, you can get a train from New York to Port Jervis and it is a 20min taxi ride from there if that is better for you.
