Monadnock seen at the horizon, is a day hiker's paradise. Old Felt Mill is newly renovated and converted into residential. Like Venice, Italy, the mill is literally on the river's edge and you can see and hear the moving water outside your windows. The loft is a large open-concept living space set up like a hotel lounge with separate seating areas and private nooks for snuggling. High ceilings are vaulted with original exposed beams and industrial spans and turnbuckles. The gourmet kitchen is designed for cooking and conversation, with built-in Liebherr fridge and Viking oven. The bedrooms which are also part of the open-concept and are hidden behind a closet and a bookcase encased in floor-to-ceiling luxurious drapery. Peterborough is the quaint quintessential New England town, one and a half hours from Boston, an hour from Worcester, and four and a half hours from NYC. It is surrounded by beautiful driving roads and a gathering of the prettiest towns in New England for which made Yankee Magazine's top ten. An artistic cultural center, great for nature walks, hiking, shops, sweeping views of old New England farms and old homes, local farm stands, berry picking, and cross country skiing. If you want to hibernate like a writer, you could simply walk downtown to accommodate your needs. Steele's Stationary has office services, with a grocery next door. Beds are freshly made, with a choice of feathers, or down-alternative pillows. Laundry, including the towels, are done with hypo-allergenic soap. Olive oil, coconut oil, vinegars, salts, pepper, sugar and faux sugars, organic spices, teapot, black tea, Keurig with variety of coffee roasts, including flavored, chamomile and mint teas. Oh and, the laundry has it's own private nook, only steps away from the kitchen... soooo convenient! Guest access Own private entrance and floor. You are also welcome in the garden. The large grey building across the river was a water generated basket-making company back in the day, despite its size, it is privately owned and is not an apartment building. Other things to note Nature's Green Grocer is a mile and a half down the road, and another "Mini Whole Foods" market is down the street, that support local farmers, from organic vegetables, vegan fare, raw milks, grass-fed meats, freshwater and ocean fish. Eateries and shops are a hop, skip, and a jump away. A new cafeteria-style Thai place for take-out on the fly. Many petite shops with unique items, super cozy book store, ice creams, gelato, home-made chocolates abound.
