A wonderful location to relax and rejuvenate, to absorb the wonder of all that nature has to offer. Other things to note When to visit: Climbers: The bouldering season runs November through April, with January and February being peak months. The park limits daily access to 70 visitors for North Mountain — book your park permits up to 3 months in advance w/ Texas Parks & Wildlife. Weekend availability and the Christmas–New Year’s holiday period tend to book quickly. For easier access to the park, consider visiting during the shoulder seasons—October through December (before xmas) and March through April. For guided access areas — Commercial tours can be reserved through several local concessions. Hikers & park lovers: We’re conveniently located within a two-hour drive of several incredible destinations, including Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, White Sands National Park, Franklin Mountains State Park, and the Organ Mountain. Desert seekers: The desert has a distinct rhythm, offering something special in every season. Summer brings dramatic monsoon rains, vibrant sunsets, and the darkest, most star-filled skies of the year—ideal for unforgettable meteor showers. Fall and spring, though brief, offer crisp air, blooming desert landscapes, and comfortable temperatures perfect for exploring. Winter is mild and sunny, making it an inviting escape from colder northern climates and a perfect time to enjoy the desert. Please note: While precipitation is minimal, strong winds are common—especially in the spring. PET POLICY: Dogs must be under owners control at all times. Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds. If your fur baby is a bed dweller and you cannot keep them off beds, you are required to bring your own blankets. Aggressive dogs are not tolerated as we have kids on property. Owners are asked to clean up after their pets. Pet fee required - this helps us to continue stay pet friendly for years to come. Sorry no cats
