This comfortable and cozy home has beautiful original gum wood trim, hardwood floors, an updated kitchen, large screen tv, washer/dryer, sunroom, formal dining room. A backyard with a brick patio for your enjoyment. During the summer, there is a grill and patio furniture available. It is close to everything! Trendy eateries, RIT, MCC, U of R, Strong Hospital (w/i walking distance) and Highland Hospital. Genesee Valley Park, Rochester Airport, expressways, Downtown Rochester and so much more! Our neighborhood is quietly charming and inviting with its lamp light lined sidewalks. Perfect for leaving the car at home and walking to the many neighborhood eateries! You'll have off-street parking for this quaint and cozy 1920's home. We've enjoyed living here with our family for 12 years and now we hope you will enjoy your stay for however long that may be! And while you're at it.....check out what's around the neighborhood here. You'll have access to the first and second floors of the house. Laundry facilities are in the basement. Parking is in the driveway. Third floor is only available if you are booking for more than 7 guests in your reservation. I'm only 10-15 mins away on most days being readily available should you need assistance, but I never intrude upon my guests. We want you to feel at home and enjoy your stay. Our home is centrally located and wonderfully convenient to downtown Rochester, just minutes away from the Rochester International airport, the University of Rochester, RIT, MCC, shopping, fine culinary restaurants to varied mix of cultural foods, and grocery stores like Trader Joes, Aldi's and Wegmans, (a Rochester must shop). Within walking distance are restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, Strong Memorial Hospital, Highland Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, beauty/salon services, a bike shop, auto repair. Also walking distance there are plenty of recreational areas such as Genesee Valley Park with golf course, and the Erie Canal bike trail where you'll see walkers, runners and bikers enjoying all the beauty that the trail has to offer. There's even an outside teal colored gym just west of the house off the trail. It's a wonderful neighborhood with a mix of professionals and students. There's a bus line on Mt Hope one block away, you can walk to restaurants in nearby college town. Walk, jog or bike along the Erie Canal trail or take a short drive into the city where there are dozens of top-notch foodie and craft cocktail restaurants. Elmerston House Pet/Dog Policy (Cats are not allowed) As dog lovers ourselves we understand how our furry friends are part of the family and we are happy to welcome well behaved dogs into our home. We do you ask that you tell us about your pet prior to booking for approval. Pet fee - We charge a pet fee of $75 for the first dog for the min. stay/week regardless of size. That fee is paid directly to host prior to arrival. This is not included in the stated nightly/weekly/monthly rate. Pet Size - We allow up to 1 larger dog or 2 small dogs. An incremental second pet fee is also required. We do have a yard with a tie out available, however the entire yard is not fenced in. Please note: The pet fee is for the dogs occupancy in our home. It is NOT a deposit or used against any damages your pet may cause. It is not refundable. If a deposit is requested, that IS refundable as long as your pet does not cause damage to home or contents or create cause for additional cleaning of the home, contents, or yard and our pet policy is adhered to. This is also paid to host by check-in time . The pet deposit is $150 and refundable in full if no damage occurs or other occurrences stated above. Refunds usually within 3-6 days of check out after cleaners have assessed. Age requirements - Dogs must be at least 2 years old - No puppies allowed House trained - All dogs MUST be house trained Training requirements - We do not accept any dogs that have been trained as guard dogs or as to be “dangerous ”. HOUSE RULES for pets - We do NOT allow dogs on the beds, couches or chairs. If it’s been raining while out with your dog and he/she is wet or muddy, we ask that you dry your pet in the entryway areas please. Towels are provided. Prior to your departure, we also require that you remove any pet hair as this is not part of the regular cleaning process and can require additional cleaning time prior to new guests coming in. If required, additional cleaning fees can be charged against your deposit. We also require that you pick up after your pet. If we have to spend additional time poop scooping the yard, it will also go against your deposit. Pets at Home -We require that if pets are to be left alone in the house that they be safely situated in their crate as opposed to confining them to a room. If your pet is left in a crate, we ask that owners be conscientious in not leaving your pet alone for excessively long periods. Just in case you do need to leave for a day, we know some affordable pet sitters/walkers. If you prefer not to bring a crate in your travels, let us know ahead of time and we may be able to make one available for an additional fee. As we know some things don't always go as planned with our furry loved ones and if by chance some damage occurs, we will assess the damage and it would be charged against your pet or rental deposit. NO CATS - Sorry, due to the fact that many people are allergic to cat dander, we do NOT allow cats. We wish you and your pet a fun and enjoyable experience while staying at the Elmerston house. I think you’ll enjoy the area and your pet will especially enjoy the surrounding areas amenities including the canal path and parks that are easily accessible via a short walk.
