Children over the age of 2 count as a guest. We require that the person making the reservation will be staying onsite as a guest. We are a dog-friendly property and can host up to 2 well-behaved dogs. We are not cat-friendly. This Property is Ideal for: - This property is well-suited for families with older children or teenagers and friend/family groups who are comfortable sharing a bathroom. Please note that this property is not baby-proofed, and due to long interior stairway and proximity to a main road, this house is not recommended for infants, toddlers, or young children. - We are a dog-friendly property (2 dog maximum per reservation) for well-behaved house trained dogs. - Please note that this property is not a party house, and while we commonly host groups attending weddings, we are not a good fit for those expecting to partake in rowdy behavior. The expectation is that our rules will be followed and physical property and management team will be treated with the upmost respect no matter the reason for your visit. - We also own a 5-bedroom (10 person) home directly behind this one. Interior Layout + Room Description: - The property is two stories, with a staircase connecting the main level to the upstairs. - Bedroom 1 is located on the main level off of the living room. This bedroom has a queen bed + 4 standard pillows, room darkening blinds + light filtering curtains, 2 wardrobe racks (no closets), and a sound machine. - Bedroom 2 and 3 are cozy dormer-style rooms located upstairs with sliding barn doors and an open middle room with a futon in between. Both bedrooms have queen beds + 4 standard pillows, room darkening blinds, a wardrobe rack (no closets), and a sound machine. Both rooms also have their own heating/cooling unit, so the temperature can be adjusted to your exact preferences. - The living room is located on the main level and includes a brand new smart TV, a couch that sits 3 people and 2 arm chairs. - The dining room is next to the living room, making for an open concept space that works great for groups to spread out and relax together. There is a table with 6 chairs and a vintage-style record player/Bluetooth sound system with a handful of vinyl records so guests can enjoy some fun classics or stream their own music. An assortment of games and books are also available for some good old fashioned entertainment. - The "extra space" upstairs includes a smart TV, futon, and upholstered storage bench with extra bedding. This area is great for older children who want their own hang out space. - The full bathroom is located on the main level and includes a vanity with 1 sink, toilet, shower (shampoo, conditioner, and body soap provided), and is stocked with additional items like a hair dryer, makeup washcloths + wipes that guests will appreciate. Bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths are provided. - The kitchen is loaded with charm and has everything a guest needs to prepare home-cooked meals. Major appliances include a refrigerator, oven/stove, and dishwasher. Small appliances include a toaster, microwave, and drip coffee maker. Guests will appreciate the provided complimentary items like spices, olive oil, coffee, and teas. Exterior Spaces: - A spacious porch, covered on two sides, spans 3/4 of the house and has outdoor seating. It is a wonderful place to enjoy your morning coffee or relax with a glass of wine after a long day of exploring! Be sure to turn on the bistro lights for some lovely evening ambiance. - The private terrace patio is surrounded by an evergreen hedge and has a grill, picnic table, chairs, and a solo stove (no longer a chiminea as pictured) where guests will enjoy their summertime s'mores. Property Location: - This property is located in downtown Lake Leelanau, conveniently on the main artery of M-204, which connects Suttons Bay to the east and Leland to the west on M-22. This is ideal for those who want to be walking distance to restaurants, a coffee shop, ice cream, and wineries. Visit the local grocery store up the road for any items you may need. Because of it's proximity to local amenities, this property leans more towards a small city environment than a rural setting, and is ideal for those who are looking to take advantage of a more activity-filled stay. - IMPORTANT: This home is located downtown near an intersection, and there is road noise to be expected from outside of the house during the daytime, particularly in prime season. The road noise is typically minimal inside the home and more noticeable from outside. For this reason, this property is not recommended for people with infants or young children or people who were expecting to be in the solitude of the woods and away from the action. Please review the birds-eye image in our photo gallery so you are familiar with our proximity to surroundings and the nearby intersection. - This property is an ideal for launching off point to the many Leelanau Peninsula wineries, as there are 10 wineries within a 2-5 minute drive. Cyclists will enjoy easy access to road biking, paved trails, and mountain biking trails. It is also a perfect location with quick access to north and south Lake Leelanau from two nearby public boat launches. We have ample parking available for a boat trailer. Nearby beaches can be found in Suttons Bay, Leland, and along Good Harbor Bay. - For those traveling with a dog, a new, wonderful dog park can be found at Herman Park in Suttons Bay, less than 10 minutes away! In the town of Lake Leelanau you will find the following within walking distance: - 5 Restaurants - 2 Public Boat Launches - 1 Grocery store - 1 Playground - 1 Distillery - 3 Wineries - 1 Deli + Specialty Wine Shop - 1 Coffee Shop - 1 Ice Cream Shop (Capital Dogs) - Boat Rental and Repair options - A handful of retail shops Driving time to local towns: - Leland, 5-10 minutes - Suttons Bay, 5-10 minutes - Northport, 15-20 minutes - Sleeping Bear Dunes 25-30 minutes - Glen Arbor, 20-25 minutes - Downtown Traverse, 30-35 minutes **IMPORTANT** - We are a non-smoking property and hold strongly to our policies. - WE REQUIRE THAT THE PERSON MAKING THE RESERVATION WILL BE STAYING AS A GUEST DURING THE ENTIRE STAY. YOU CANNOT MAKE A RESERVATION FOR SOMEONE ELSE. WE CANNOT TRANSFER RESERVATIONS TO A DIFFERENT GUEST IF YOUR PLANS CHANGE. - GUESTS MUST REVIEW OUR PROPERTY RULES AND POLICIES BEFORE BOOKING Guest access The guests will have a private entrance where there will be a door with a code which is provided prior to arrival. Other things to note We have parking for up to 4 cars and a boat trailer at this property. If you plan to have more than this please reach out to us to arrange for additional parking. Firewood is not stocked at the property and guests are responsible for purchasing their own firewood.
