Sanctuary by the Stream-close to ski areas

Leave your cares behind & enjoy the beautiful Catskill mountains as you relax in your “Stream side Sanctuary,” a beautifully renovated 2 bedroom house just outside of Phoenicia, located on the tranquil Stony Clove Stream. Private & conveniently located one mile from the town of Phoenicia. Hiking trails, ski areas, and state parks are a short drive away. The view changes with the seasons and is wonderful year round. The recently renovated house has a beautiful, fully equipped kitchen; spacious dining room that looks out on trees and flowers from a bow window; living room with gas fireplace and large screen TV; modern bathroom; two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. Air conditioning and heat throughout make it a cozy, comfortable retreat year round! The house has cable TV and wifi. A car is not necessary as the house is located just short of a mile form the bus station in Phoenicia. You can walk to town, eat in one of several restaurants, visit the quaint shops, go fly fishing, or cool off in the Stony Clove or the Esopus Streams. If you’re feeling energetic, a walk of a little over a mile will bring you to the Tanbark Trail and/or the trail up Tremper Mountain, both very popular spots, or walk about 2 miles to the Phoenicia Diner for a hearty breakfast or lunch. The Rail Explorers is a new attraction in town that offers a fun adventure on the tracks by the stream. (reserve early if you're interested) The Ashokan Rail Trail is open year round and has incredible views. Or you may want to cool off in our stream and explore some nearby swimming holes. In winter, you can enjoy skiing, snowmobiling or snowshoeing. (We have three pair available for your use) We are close to Hunter, Belleayre, and Windham ski centers. Ski all day and come back and relax by the beautiful fire place. We also have a great stream side fire pit (propane) available for use in April through November. We recently added another patio by the stream, a little more in the shade, and a sweet shade garden with a little walkway. If you’re not an outdoor person, stroll around Phoenicia and stop in the unique shops or visit the nearby Emerson complex, where you can explore the shops, take an exercise class, get a massage or visit the world’s largest kaleidoscope! Come and enjoy “your vacation home” without any of the work or responsibility! My husband and I have a home on the property. If we are not traveling, we like to greet our guests, give a quick tour of the house, and answer any questions. Whether we are home or away we can always be reached but we give our guests as much privacy as possible so that they can comfortably enjoy all of the property. Guest access Guests are encouraged to enjoy the entire property. Other things to note Our house is stocked with "the basics" - coffee, tea, sugar, salt & pepper, some spices,and olive oil. The kitchen is well supplies with pots & pans, dishes etc. and the house has plenty of sheets and towels. We have a beautiful propane fueled fire pit - please read directions provided in the house before using it. We have lovely flower gardens and our stream isagreat place to cool off.
