Also, please note that Airbnb has not been able to fix a technical issue on their end. They say our listing has two sleeping areas, when in fact, we have one king bedroom in the apartment. We do not have two sleeping areas. We are located in Salvo on the Oceanside of Highway 12 in a quiet, safe area on a private lane. The beach is at the end of our road (less than 5 minute walk with no streets to cross). The apartment is perfect for two guests maximum. Outside there is an incredible hot/cold shower and covered fish cleaning station. You have an exclusive large lockable storage area as part of the rental. The park size charcoal grill and picnic table are perfect for outdoor cooking. The apartment includes a king bedroom with two night stands with lamps + charging stations on each, full bath with shower, and living room area with seating futon. In addition, there is a chest of drawers in that area. The kitchenette features a full size refrigerator, sink, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, blender, hot plate, dishes and utensils along with a dining table and four stools. There are additional chairs available in the storage area for use inside or out. The washer/dryer is located in the hall. Our keyless entry system gets you started on vacation as soon as you arrive on the island. ALSO, you can walk to the sound. We are located on a narrow peninsula, so there is ocean on one side and sound on the other. Day-use park (SDU) within walking distance on sound side perfect for kite boarding, paddle boarding, kayaking, and shallow, calm water. There is a bath house, restrooms, grills and picnic tables. Like to run, ride a bike or just walk - awesome walking/bike path that goes for miles. Alex’s Shrimp Shack for freshest seafood caught locally. Another option about 11 miles south is Sunrise Seafood. Waves Market and Deli has terrific sandwiches and speciality items along with many grocery options. They typically have amazing dinner specials. Lisas Pizza has wonderful NY style pizza. Waves Candy/Coffee at MP 40 in the Kitty Hawk Kites complex makes all of your favorite coffee beverages. All local owned restaurants in town with friendly customer service. Local owned ice cream parlor and fruit stands. Live bands at Waterman's on the weekends. Dollar General store one mile away. Either fish at the nearby pier in Rodanthe, fish in the surf, rent a charter boat for the sound, or go deep sea fishing. Climb the Hatteras Lighthouse, the tallest in North America, just 30 minutes south. Take the free ferry to Ocracoke Island to see wild horses, explore the quaint fishing village, or take a bike tour. There is an aquarium in Manteo. There is so much to do and see in the area. Avoid the development and bustle of the rest of the Outer Banks and come relax, swim in the ocean, and enjoy a week of gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Guest access The first floor downstairs apartment is yours during your stay. There are four stairs to get to the landing and one more stair to get into the unit. No stairs are inside the unit. Access to the property includes outdoor shower, grill, picnic table, outdoor clothes lines, foot cleaning station, and covered fish cleaning station. Keyless entry system. Plenty of parking on premises. The Airbnb does not have access to the decks or upper floors of the house. Please do not go up any stairs as they lead to a private residence. The owner may be on the premises during your stay. Other things to note Remember to bring your own beach towels. We provide all of your bedding and bed linens for the bed, and we provide a set of towels (bath, hand, wash cloth) for each guest. Bring extras if you need them. Comforter and blanket are in the closet. Lots of extra pillows. You may want to bring a bath robe to walk from the outdoor shower if you use it. Minimum rental age is 25. Please do not contact us if you do not meet this requirement or if there are more than two people in your party. No smoking and no animal policy strictly enforced and is grounds for eviction if breached. Starter supply of amenities provided at no charge. There is a Dollar General nearby with reasonable prices if you forget to bring something or need additional supplies. There is a Dollar Tree with even better prices 11 miles south in the Food Lion shopping center. Check in time is 3:00pm unless we notify you of an earlier option. Check out is at 10:00am unless we notify you of a later option. We may be using the two top floors of the property during your stay. These areas and the decks are not available for Airbnb use. It is unlikely that you will ever "hear us" if we happen to be there, because our main living area extends past the apartment. Please see Airbnb policy regarding weather events. There are no refunds related to weather events unless you are unable to access the apartment. If this concerns you, we encourage you to purchase trip insurance so that you are covered.
