Located at the western edge of Marfa, this cozy, unique adobe offers a true Marfa experience, and the best isolation and comfort for you and your family. The house is air conditioned and heated, has wifi and a smart TV. There is one bedroom downstairs with a comfy queen sized bed and one loft bedroom upstairs with a queen sized bed and fun views. The bathroom with shower is downstairs. There are stairs going to the upstairs loft bedroom (see pics). (Marfa Hotel Tax ID #S44 - Registered) The space Private, comfortable and peaceful. On-site parking, entire house which is not attached to any other structure. Concrete floors and high ceilings, air conditioned, heated and has wifi and nice star gazing from courtyard. Two bedrooms: - 1 bedroom downstairs with queen bed.. -1 cozy upstairs loft bedroom with a queen sized bed. There are stairs going to the upstairs. (See pics). If someone is staying upstairs and they need to use the bathroom all through the night, they will have to come down the stairs to do so. The bathroom is on the ground floor. House is most comfortable for no more than 4 guests. Full kitchen with all appliances and utensils for meals. Full bath with rain head shower. Lofty ceilings The tv is a 54 inch "smart TV". There is a fun selection of DVD’s but there is no cable tv. You may use the TV for Netflix, Hulu, etc by signing in if you have an account. There is no solid guarantee on wifi streaming speeds. WIFI - There is wifi at the house. Some views of the Davis Mountains from the property and from upstairs. Courtyard with distant mountain views and a fun small soaking tub (this is a handmade, “cowboy”, rustic outdoor tub with both hot and cold water.) Their are chairs outside and extra chairs inside which can be moved outside for wonderful star viewing. The historic Paisano Hotel, restaurants and galleries in the center of town are a 3 minute drive away, though many guests enjoy walking to downtown, about 15 minutes. Several fun restaurants are within walking distance, less than 5 blocks away. A few minute's walk away is the Cemetery Merced at the end of the street. That area is high on the western edge of town, a nice place to watch the sunset, with nice views of the ranch lands and plenty of distant mountains. The railroad runs though Marfa. You will see the train from the house back yard and from upstairs. Please read what every other homeowner in Marfa has written about the train. It is the reason there is a town in the middle of the desert. You will interact with me when booking the property - I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have in advance of your visit. At the property, you'll let yourself in, and will have phone numbers for the house manager who will be able to troubleshoot if you happen to need assistance during reasonable hours of your stay, not at 1:00 am. Please keep in mind, this is a website which offers people's homes for rent. This is not a hotel with 24hr concierge service. Pets must be approved by owner prior to booking. Just inquire as I am a dog lover and 99% of the time allow you to bring your pet. Please be aware that the desert if not a "comfortable" place for pets. All of West Texas is full of thorns, plants with burrs, goat head stickers abound in the sand and cactus have spines. There is a one time $50 fee for pets. Due to the city wide "burn ban" which is in effect, there are no outdoor fires allowed at this time. Guest access About a week prior to your visit you will receive the basic house rules via email. Once you have read and agreed to the house rules, you will receive the four digit passcode for getting into the house. Check in is 4pm or after and there is no need to set up a specific time of your arrival. Earlier check-in times are often available, please inquire, as you can get in earlier if the cleaning team can have the house ready. If you would like to see the basic house rules before your visit, please request. More than happy to send to you at any time. Other things to note All of West Texas is full of thorns, plants with burrs, goathead stickers abound in the yard, especially in fall and winter, and all cacti have spines. Check shoes to avoid bringing them into the house. Marfa City Hotel Tax and state tax are included on your final receipt. There is coffee available for your use as well as drip, perk and pour-over coffee makers. The cleaning team is following all CDC guidelines for sterilization of the house and we are working diligently to adhere to all rules and regulations. If there are extra guests for the upstairs, take a look at the stair pics. If those extra guests have bad knees, have to use the restroom all through the night or even suffer from never-ending complaint syndrome, please do not plan on using the upstairs. There is a county-wide burn ban in effect at this time. The high danger of brush fires unfortunately means there can be no fires in the outdoor fireplace until the ban is lifted. The county marshall is quick to issue fines for skirting this strict law. PETS - Guests must get prior approval before bringing any pets to property. Well behaved dogs under 50 lbs are more than likely to be ok'd by home owner. An additional pet fee of $40 is required.
