The house was renovated with lots of love and filled with old original and very modern touches: Our spacious kitchen is filled with modern conveniences, including a 6-burner Viking range, a Bosh dishwasher, and a restored walk-in fireplace. The living room has a working fireplace and a " Vico Magistretti for Cassina” leather sofa amongst a day bed and several lounge chairs. There’s plenty of room to relax and a video projector with Apple Tv and a pull-down screen for your own movie nights. The elegant dining room invites dinner parties and festivities with a beautiful maple “Pace” dining table. The sun room’s vintage wood table is beautifully suited for a leisurely lunch. Ceiling fans provide a nice breeze in summer, while the pellet stove adds coziness in colder times. An energy-efficient heating and cooling system is as environmentally friendly as possible. Our energy comes from a community solar farm. With a panoramic view of the Catskills Range, the seasonable saltwater swimming pool with a patio and sun chairs offers relaxation. Also set beside the pool is a wood-fired BBQ caldron and a gas BBQ invite for outdoor cooking. To top the experience, we provide an outdoor Barrel Sauna. The off-the-grid wood-burning sauna is an incredibly rejuvenating and enjoyable set among apple trees. Guests can wander the 6 acres of land leading - at the far end to the Esopus creek winding through the adjacent nature preserve. It is incredibly calming to hang out by the creek, fish, or kayak. The house is rentable from a minimum of 3 days to 10 days maximum. In addition to the house, the property has an event space in and around the barn overlooking the Esopus creek. If you would like to host your friends and family for a fun party, retreat, or wedding, the 1200 sqft barn can accommodate smaller or larger gatherings of max. 120 guests. This oldest town of NY state with an amazing history is a beautiful destination. You can stroll through uptown with stores and great restaurants and places. Midtown with an emerging gallery scene and cool bars. Downtown, you can hang out on the waterfront of the Hudson and there's great antiquing. On the property itself, you have river access and with lots of nature and waterfalls in the area, there is lots to do. The bus company "Trailways" from NYC (and other directions) to Kingston is 12 min driving from the house. There is also a local bus passing in front of the house on the 209 from Kingston. After you confirmed the reservation, you will be sent a liability waiver to sign. If you are planning to travel with a pet, we ask you to sign a pet addendum. The basement is off limit for guests. There may be times when the owner needs to access that basement - of course only after notification. As it has a separate entrance and it is accessible from the driveway, renters will barely notice.
