Pet friendly, private home with 360-degree views, spa, pool table. Our Hacienda offers an exclusive private setting on six acres. The home has three bedrooms, two baths, and a pull out bed located above the pecan fields overlooking the Rio Grande Valley, Organ Mountains, and city lights. Enjoy the views from every room in the house, infinity spa or billiard room or the desert landscape and Picacho Peak from the 2,000-sqft flagstone patio with and beautiful gas fire table and luxury furniture. Surrounded by thousands of acres of public and private land, this beautiful property is situated on six private acres of natural desert landscapes yet only five miles from downtown. Hidden above a working pecan orchard and away from it all, this private home enjoys 360-degree views that from every room. Arriving guests will take a short drive through a large private pecan orchard, before accessing the property via the newly - paved driveway. The private drive follows a gentle ridge top up to the main parking area of the house with ample spaces and enough room to park an RV. An ornamental gate opens up to a large flagstone patio in the front of the house perfect for entertaining, soaking up the sun, or grilling out with friends and family. Built in 1966, the 2,100 sqft single - story house has ceramic tile and floor-to-ceiling windows throughout. New rustic southwestern - style furniture, Native American pottery, artwork, and original paintings can be found in every room and compliment the home's architecture and desert setting. The large dining room table seats eight and is the perfect setting to enjoy breathtaking views with family & friends. The living room is a cozy intimate space that also doubles as a private theater. The Broyhill suede leather couch folds out with an automatically inflating queen pull out bed. There is also a leather ottoman, an oversized double leather recliner, and a second leather electric recliner. The overhead projection system for watching movies or television is connected to DIRECTV and a PlayStation III that can play video games as well as regular and blue ray DVDs from the library provided. Guests can also enjoy any of the books or field guides in the library during their stay. In the northern wing of the house, guests can enjoy a regulation - size billiard table, stand up bar, small sofa, a wall-mounted 55" flat - screen television, and surround sound system all while taking in dramatic valley and Organ Mountain views. All billiard supplies are provided. A dedicated workstation and electric, adjustable stand-up desk with valley views is also located in the game room. Surrounded by an infinity deck which extends out over the hill slope, guests can relax in the 6-person spa in the east yard. The hot tub is always heated and is maintained weekly year-'round. Spa towels provided. The whole house is accessible to guests (including full kitchen and laundry), with the exception of the garage and a small house keeping closet adjacent to the master bedroom. Guests are encouraged to explore the grounds and nearby trails on public lands responsibly. Please respect all adjacent neighbor's privacy and stay on only worn / existing trails. Always practice responsible citizenship by packing in / packing out everything you bring and do not litter. Unfortunately, no entry is permitted within the pecan orchards as it is an active working farm and not part of this property. Please refer to the BLM website for additional information and guidelines about the Picacho Peak Recreation Area and Desert Peaks National Monument. Our neighborhood is comprised of just a handful of houses and an active pecan orchard below. All the properties in our neighborhood exceed five acres and there is very little traffic on our street. The pecan farm activities can be expected during the harvest in December and clean up which can go into February. Like much of the Southwest, public transportation is limited to metropolitan areas. Las Cruces does have public transportation, however, no public transportation is available to and from the property. The home is accessed via 2 - wheel drive vehicles and is located 6.8 miles to downtown, 7.3 miles to the Plaza in historic Mesilla, and 9.2 miles to New Mexico State University. Guests can use this outlet to charge electric vehicles at no extra cost. Guests must have their own charging cords / adapters. This house and its surroundings are located within a natural desert setting. Guests are encouraged to explore the grounds but should be prepared to encounter wildlife -even right outside the front door. Although not guaranteed, wildlife encounters are very common and can include: road runners, bunnies, insects, scorpions, migratory birds, snakes, coyotes, foxes, and javelina! Some guests may not be familiar with all of the dangers that desert animals can pose, and in addition to researching and educating themselves, guests are encouraged to follow some basic practices in the natural desert environment: 1) NEVER attempt to handle, harass, or kill any wildlife including snakes; 2) Always be aware of your surroundings at all times; 3) Some but not all species of snakes, spiders, and scorpions are venomous and if a bite occurs, it is helpful to be able to identify the animal; try to take a photo if it is safe to do so, and call 911 immediately if there is any doubt; 4) Do not feed the wildlife; 5) Please do not allow small children or pets to wander the grounds unsupervised.
