Description

Relax with the guitar and vibe with the country-chic trappings of the living room. Featuring muted colors, wood-paneled walls, and hip furnishings throughout, this home is bursting with kitchy Nashville charm. The tall, old trees and cottage garden on this near acre lot make it feel like you are in your own world, but still located within striking distance of downtown, Opryland, and all that Nashville has to offer. I hope you find this home as charming as I do! The space There is just something about this house that is so cozy. It bursts with its own soul and will happily welcome you in! It was featured in Austin Jenckes’ video “Fat Kid”-scenes shot in the front bedroom & dining area. Only a couple of miles from the airport, this location is perfect for those flying in and out. There is ample parking for several vehicles for those driving in as well. The yard is large, with some very tall, old trees that make it feel like you are in your own world, yet this location is anything but detached from the things you need & want in Nashville!! I have a lot of detail below. Please read on.... PETS: I allow pets, but have some house rules regarding them. Please refer to the house rules before booking. The pet fee is included in the pricing as long as you have indicated pets on your reservation. The fee is $20/night. The downstairs BEDROOMS each have queen beds, a closet, and built in drawers for clothes storage if you don't like to live out of your suitcase. They each have TVs with local antenna reception & Rokus. Read on for more details on TVs. The "LOFT": Bedroom #3. It is the entire upstairs area and features 2 comfy full sized beds, a day bed & trundle- both single sized beds, & the futon sectional which converts to 2 single beds. See photos for suggestions on arrangements. We usually keep the trundle under the daybed, and the sectional set for sitting, but they are all made up for sleeping. If we know you need all of the beds we can happily set them up for you in the sleeping position. The "loft" also has a TV as seen in the listing photos. The stairs to the loft are more narrow than usual. I didn't put them in. Be aware if you have mobility issues it may be difficult to access this area. The ceiling is low and is sloping-it is a finished attic space. Kids LOVE it up there, but a NBA team would probably have a hard time. To lay the futons flat, pull the backs forward to release the latch and lay back. The trundle bed is under the day bed to free up floor space, but can of course be pulled out if needed! There are 2 charcoal GRILLS available for you to use. The lock on the shed is holding the door shut, & should be unlocked & left that way. :) If someone does lock it, the code is in the red guest guidebook. It’s a bit dark in there, so you may want to grab the flashlight in the drawer by the side door on your way out. I am planning to tear this shed down soon, but first need to make a new home for the items in there! Working on it! All outdoor items should be left as they are found, as it isn't possible to check and maintain this area between each stay. PARKING is available anywhere in the driveway. You may park 2 cars wide in the straight part of the driveway, but please don't park or drive in the yard. I would estimate that if you parked strategically, you can fit 4-6 cars in the straight part of the driveway, & 2-3 in the U shaped drive, depending on the size of vehicle. The TVs have plenty of apps for your entertainment, antenna TV, and I have YouTube TV with LIVE TV and unlimited DVR recording for your use! It’s similar to cable and has all the standard channels you’d come to expect with basic cable as far as I can tell (I’m not a big tv watcher myself...). The living room has a DVD player. It is connected with a super long HDMI cable. You may unplug it from the DVD player to use with your device. COFFEE & TEA are available. I keep creamer, sugar, & sweetener options on hand. The coffee maker can brew a full pot for my larger groups, but also brews individual cups with loose coffee or k-cups. Search "Hamilton Beach Flex Brew" if you are coffee obsessed. There is also a French Press and tea kettle above the stove. WILDLIFE. There is a lot here! I have embraced it and have some gardening practices to support biodiversity and the creatures that abound. It isn't uncommon for deer to graze the "back 40" and lightning bugs to dot the yard at night! Native gardening has become a bit of an obsession! But with this means leaves get left behind for the lightning bugs and parts of the lawn left a little long for the grazers and dragonflies (they eat SO many mosquitoes!) There is some method to the madness I promise! I do try to balance it with the needs of my human guests though! Guest access The side door has a KEYPAD LOCK, so you are able to check in any time and on your own. The code will be changed with each guest for your security. You'll enter through the side door. The area offers restaurants, stores, & is within striking distance to downtown & Opryland. It's a short drive to the Greenway, offering walking trails & a scenic lake. Find the map section to see how it relates to your desired destinations. Approx 10-15 min drive to Downtown barring heavy traffic. See house rules for more details Other things to note There are plenty of critters on the property, including a plethora of birds and squirrels, but I have seen bunnies and deer, and even have a resident groundhog named Stanley. He lives under the little shed and can be seen particularly in mid afternoon grazing in the backyard. There is also a neighborhood cat we call Bobcat who is very friendly and likes to visit. On the less desirable side, there is a very healthy skunk in the area, and reports of coyotes. Please do not dump cooking grease outdoors on my flowers or lawn not only because it's bad for them but because it can attract these less favorable visitors. Skunks really like cat food, too! For that reason if you want to feed Bobcat please only give him what he can eat when you see him. He doesn't need much-just a snack. All the neighbors feed him too! Thank you! This home is registered with Metro Codes, & has met all of the requirements for the permit including the fire marshal inspection. There are interconnected smoke & CO2 alarms throughout the home.
