Cliffhang Cabin over the French Broad River
Description
You have never stayed anywhere like this. Built on a cliff overlooking the French Broad River, you can see miles of mountains for more than 180 degrees from inside the cabin and from 3 decks on different levels. Ride an electric lift down the cliff or walk the stairs to the cabin. Soak in the hot tub or sit by the fire pit while relaxing in front of the view The space The cabin is on two levels overlooking the French Broad River. Each bedroom has phenomenal expansive views of the mountains as you look down literally over the river more than 100 feet below! Catch your breath as you walk out onto one of the cantilevered decks. The kitchen and living room on the first floor have equally breathtaking views! Each floor boasts of a full bathroom with showers and sit-down tubs. Large, exposed timber ceilings and tongue-in-grooved walls and floors gives it the handcrafted feel that one expects from a mountain cabin. Anyone who does woodwork cannot help but be impressed with the massive timber stairs between the floors. From every living space including the kitchen, living room, and bedrooms, you are surrounded by the beauty of the Smoky Mountains. While Wi-fi is available, you will probably just want to "disconnect." You will want to stay home sip your coffee and drink in the view while you relax to the sound of the French Broad River slipping by far below. Guest access The house is fully equipped with laundry facilities and a fully stocked kitchen. Guests may use the electric lift or stairs to get to the cabin, which sits on a cliff. Hiking around the cliff is not allowed. There is no place immediately around the cabin to walk. Other things to note It is 30 minutes from Hot Springs, NC, Paint Creek, 45 minutes from Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Sevierville, Tn, and 1 hour from Asheville, NC, or Knoxville, TN. You can see the Great Smoky National Park from the porch and the Cherokee National Forest. Tubing, hiking, white water rafting, horseback riding, and ziplining are all close by. Since there is no trash service out here in the mountains, guests are expected to remove and dispose of the trash generated. There are two trash disposal sites close to the cabin for your convenience. The site is less than 2 miles from the cabin and on your way out. The signs say only Cocke county residents, and this trash is generated in Cocke and can be disposed of there. If you leave on a Sunday or holiday, you may leave one trash bag for the cleaners to remove.
