My place is good for couples, families (with kids), and big groups. 4 Bears Cabin is located in the beautiful Sun Valley, Alto, New Mexico area, located about 5 miles north of Ruidoso, New Mexico at an altitude of approximately 7500 ft. The Cabin has approximately 2700 square feet and includes 4 bedrooms, 2 King and 2 Queens, a loft with twin beds and couches, 2 living areas, one upstairs with a beautiful view through a 25 feet of glassed wall and one downstairs with a game area with TV, 3 baths, covered front porch, and a huge back deck overlooking beautiful scenery. Sleeps 10-12 is an excellent vacation retreat suitable for a large family gatherings. No Pets and No Smoking permitted. 4 Bears Cabin features a wood burning stove, log stairs leading up to the loft overlooking the living area. The two main level master suites have French doors opening onto the large back deck that spans the length of the cabin. The deck has beautiful views of the mountains and is an excellent area for relaxing and enjoying the wildlife and birds. A small creek runs through the bottom of the property (in wet weather). Elk, deer, black bears, wild horses, and other wildlife is abundant in the area. 4 Bears Cabin was a dream of 4 best friends from West Texas. After locating our building site in 2000, we waited five years before starting our building project. We chose a custom design log cabin from Real Log Homes and were fortunate to find a great log home representative, Bobby & Diane Springer of Lakehills, Texas. Lots of laughs, bruises, sprains, sore muscles and one or two mashed fingers resulted in the finished project. We had help from family and friends, especially Arnold and Santa George who made the trip with us so many times. We made lots of mistakes and learned a lot about building before finishing the cabin. Now, we can enjoy the fruits of our labor when we travel to Ruidoso to enjoy a weekend or vacation at the cabin. We are proud to share our home with our guests. 4 Bears Cabin is located at 115 Mogul Rd, Sun Valley, Alto, NM, about 5 miles north of Ruidoso on Hwy 48 (Mechem Drive), across from Alto Country Club. Be sure to specify Sun Valley as the location. 4 Bears Cabin is a five bedroom log cabin with approximately 2700 square feet of living space. There is a large deck that spans the width of the cabin in the back and a covered deck on the front of the cabin. The cabin is easily accessible with paved roads. It is very near local attractions including skiing, horse racing, casinos, shopping and dining. The cabin is located at 7700 ft. altitude so it is cool in the summer. We can always be reached by phone at any of the numbers provided to guests prior to their arrival. We have a local housekeeper who is available in an emergency. 4 Bears Cabin is located in a mountain area with an unrestricted view of the mountains from the back deck. All roads to the cabin are paved and well-maintained year round. We provide a list of favorite restaurants. 4 Bears Cabin is approximately 7 miles from downtown Ruidoso. The cut-off to Ski Apache is approximately 1.25 miles from the cabin. There are nearby convenience stores and dining. We have a strict no-pet, no smoking policy. Because 4 Bears in located in a mountain area, local fire restrictions may apply. Fire restrictions can be found in Ruidoso or by calling the local Forest Ranger office.
