This is such a beautiful and relaxing apartment. There are lots of windows that flood the rooms with natural light. Much of the art work represents St Augustine. The furniture is comfortable and beautiful. The beds have freshly pressed linens and firm mattresses with a layer of memory foam for a wonderful night’s rest. The kitchen is set up so that coffee can be easily accessed even if someone is cooking or using the sink. It’s stocked with beautiful bar glasses and bar ware. You’ll LOVE it ! The home was built in 1927 and we are its second owner. It has been in our family since 1974. The building has 3 apartments. Apartments A and B are downstairs vacation rentals and may be occupied during your stay. Apartment C ( this apartment) takes up the entire upstairs and has a front and back staircase entrance. The sun porch is enclosed with original fixed and sealed multi-paned windows with sun blinds (WINDOWS DO NOT OPEN). It has heart of pine floors in the living/dining room and both bedrooms. There is tile in the kitchen, bathroom and sun porch. Crown molding, ceiling medallions, 10 foot ceilings and character galore. It has central heat/air. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, dinnerware, serve ware, bar glasses, coffee bar, slow cooker, waffle iron, hand mixer, milkshake machine, toaster, electric tea kettle and other miscellaneous items. The refrigerator has ice/water in the door. The stove has a smooth ceramic cooktop with a self cleaning oven. There is a dishwasher, microwave and garbage disposal. It has a large stainless steel farm sink, marble countertops and an island with quartz top that seats three. The bathroom has 6 foot high white carrera marble walls, exhaust fan with Bluetooth speaker, adjustable wall makeup mirror, hand painted chinoiserie wall stenciling above the marble, first aid kit, walk-in marble shower with hand held sprayer and a shampoo/conditioner/shower gel dispenser. The bathroom is located between the two bedrooms. Each bedroom has a queen size bed, a highboy chest for clothes, bedside Waterford crystal lamps, fan with remote control, robes, extra sheets, pillows, blankets, a sewing kit (front bedroom), full size dressing mirror, iron with ironing board and hangers. The outdoor deck is roomy with casual seating for four, a table with umbrella and four chairs for dining. In the evening ambient lighting comes on automatically at dark and goes off automatically. A garden fountain provides for a relaxing environment to read a book, visit with friends, have dinner or catch some rays. The deck is enclosed with lattice railing for privacy with a top slide bolt closure on the gate. Palmetto bugs are large bugs that have wings, look like giant roaches and can fly in through open doorways. They are a huge problem in Florida especially after heavy rains. We have a pest control service that sprays monthly but these particular bugs often still find a way to get in. Hopefully, if you see one he is either dead or dying. Don’t be alarmed - they don’t bite or sting. I usually grab a paper towel and pick them up and toss in the garbage can. If you see more than one or two please let me know and I’ll give the exterminator a call. Thank you for understanding 😊 There is an off street parking area and a private upstairs outdoor deck. The parking area is shared with other guests. This apartment and outdoor deck are private for your use only. There is a small downstairs front porch that other guests have access to. Our area of town is called Uptown. The neighborhood is a mixed use area combining residential and commercial. Pelican Landing Sports Bar / Restaurant is across the street as is Old Town liquor store. The Fountain of Youth is 1 1/2 blocks across the street. The tour trolleys are just down the street to the left as well as the Old Jail. Downtown is a short walk to the right. Unless going to the beach (which requires a car) you may park in the private parking area at Casa de Flora and walk to most places in the downtown area. Public transportation includes: Old Town Trolley which offers hop on/off (844-388-6452), Red Trolley Tours (800-226-6545), Hoppers Shuttle -an 8 Seat golf cart that picks up and drops off (904-639-6869), Pedicab (904-501-4848), Explore Tours & Pickups also an extended golf cart (904-853-1500) and Uber. We also own the property next door at 134 San Marco and the garage apartments at 134 1/2. Full time tenants live in the two garage apartments. The cottage with the patio is a vacation rental and may be occupied during your stay.
