The loft size double-hung windows let in abundant sunlight. Watching the sunlight unfold over the mountain range beyond throughout the day and actually at every season of the year is a spectacle in itself. Spreading over 3 floors- and with radiant heat everywhere - this place is built energy efficient with the finest materials. This mixture of modern and grand while warm and welcoming is one of a kind. Sit in front of the fire place, cook in the fully equipped Chef's kitchen, enjoy the magnificent view from the living and dining room, or rest in the hammock on the screen porch, next to the outdoor shower. The living room is a spacious, open plan area with reclaimed wooden beams and a loft like feeling though the elevated ceilings and huge windows. The free standing fireplace separates the living room from the dining area, yet the gorgeous walnut floor continues and brings glow into the house (something to be experienced). The living room is great to enjoy board games, sip wine, listen to music and sit by a cozy fire. The extra large windows are perfect to watch the amazing mountain range and colors of the sky all year around. Specially around sunset that view becomes a miracle of natures spectacle of light, color and movement of sun, clouds and moon in itself. The large Chef's kitchen comes fully stocked with stainless steel appliances as well as most cooking tools. We provide a kitchen inventory and supply list to assist with any planning, just asked that you replace whatever you have used. A large island with bar stools sits in the middle of the kitchen to chat and enjoy while cooking. The beautiful designed dining area has gorgeous views over the mountains and is perfect for a delicious dinner. The screened in porch is also great for entertaining, enjoying the view or relaxing in the hammock. On the far side of the house you also have the option to enjoy the outdoor shower during the summer days and sit by the open fire bowl outside under the stars at night, after enjoying a delicious meal in the outdoor grill, all available to you. For those of you who want or need to stay connected, or just enjoy having high speed internet at hand, you are also set up for a strong wifi connection throughout the house with 380Mbps that is supported by an excellent private router. A beautiful staircase made from reclaimed wood leads to the 4 bedrooms upstairs. From the hallway upstairs you have gorgeous views over the property and mountain range beyond. The master bedroom at the end of the hall with a king size bed has a closet & desk as well as its own bathroom and Jacuzzi. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed & desk with a matching closet. The 3rd bedroom has a full bed with a desk and a kids library. And finally the 4th bedroom, has two twin beds and toys and books available. The last three bedrooms share one bathroom. Beautiful linens and towels are provided. Downstairs you find another sofa area to watch TV or the beautiful landscape in separation to the open floor plan of the main floor. There you also find an exercise area with a ballet barre, weight & yoga mats as well as a beautiful full bathroom with a raindrop shower. The house is best used for up to 5-6 adults plus children, as the bedrooms are laid out in 1 king, 1 queen & I double bed for those three bedrooms while the fourth bedroom has 2 twin beds. This bedroom has also toys & children's books available. This place is truly magical - feel the calm that this place brings. The house is airtight and temperature controlled so it stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter. For the summer: The house stays cool in the summer while being eco-friendly by being airtight and being cooled down naturally by opening the windows at night to let in the fresh air from the mountain. Additionally the air conditioning through a split unit in the main floor and ceiling fans in the bedrooms keep the house fresh while being sustainable. This house lets you reside in balance & harmony with nature, a true break from the city. For the winter: Our neighbor will plow the road once the snowfall has slowed down, yet a four wheel drive is needed in the winter months. Please note we do not allow dogs (since we are allergic), yet we have cats in the house, when we use the house ourselves. Mount Tremper is a magical place set in the Catskill Mountain region. The town of Woodstock with shopping, excellent restaurants, spas, entertainment and yoga, is just a few minutes drive. Kingston is the town for big store shopping and is a 20 minute drive. There are plenty of cool antique shops in the area and in the warmer months, estate sales abound. There are over 40 possible hiking trails in the area within a minimal driving distance. This house is situated such that you cannot see any other neighbor. The driveway itself is almost a mile and a nice walk, too. And just down the road, about 5 min walk from the end of our drive way starts a hiking trail into State Wilson Park. We look forward to hosting you! Home is accessible by car. The house is 10 minute drive from the center of Woodstock. If a guest wishes to take the Trailways Bus from NYC Port Authority station, there are regular buses that will take you to the center of Woodstock. You can then order a cab to bring you to the house. Once in the house, you can easily walk to State Wilson Park making a right on Wittenberg Road, the park is less than a mile on the left side of the road. Every Monday from 1-2pm the generator runs automatically for maintenance purposes.
