The rest of the property is available for walks, but the barn buildings, and horse occupied pastures, are off limits. We look forward to welcoming you on arrival, to answer questions, and provide you with a house key. We are a phone call away (we live 5 min down the road), and work with the horses on the farm daily. We will help in any way you may need us to, but will give you all the privacy you desire as well. The town of Hillsdale is 5 minutes away, with wonderful restaurants (casual to fine dining), an old world Pub/Restaurant or two, the not-to-miss 'Village Scoop' Ice Cream parlor, plus a few really fun shops and a decent grocery store. Other near-by attractions include Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Berkshire Choral and Theater Festivals, Country Club Golf, Catamount's Adventure Park, the Rail-Trail, plus art house movies, and miles of hiking trails, waterfalls and swimming holes ...not to mention 3 major ski resorts (Catamount, Jiminy Peak and Butternut)! Great Barrington, MA, is 20 min away (where you will find 50 restaurants, shops and cultural entertainment)... The farm is in the Northeast corner of New York, 2 miles from MA and 10 miles from CT. This is a rural community where you must have your own car. A 4WD is helpful in snowy winters! There is plenty of parking at the farm with space for 2 cars under cover, in the garage. The house is conveniently located just over 2 hours from Boston and New York City. Nearest airports are Albany, NY and Hartford, CT. Weather is always unpredictable, bring layers of clothing and sensible shoes. The fourth floor has two trundle beds (sleeps 4) but is accessed via a stair case, leading up from the 3rd floor media room. There is no bathroom on the 4th floor. The media room has a pull out couch that can double as an extra bedroom, but the folks on the 4th floor have to pass through this room, so it's not private. The house is equipped with A/C in all the bedrooms and the living room! There is Wi-fi throughout the house.
