Set amidst nineteen private acres, you are surrounded by glorious, tranquil, unspoiled nature, yet only minutes to the center of the town! The home is perfect for vacations, holidays, family gatherings—as your home away from home when attending one of Woodstock's multitudes of music, theater, art, and craft attractions, or just a much needed/deserved getaway! The space There are many lovely and unique homes in Woodstock to choose from, as well as inns, lodges, B&B's, etc. What we feel sets our home apart is that it offers its own truly unique "getaway-from-it-all” experience. When you arrive at our home, the vision seems precisely as you would expect to find in a rustic mountain lodge home of your dreams. It is a celebration of nature—the wild creatures that inhabit it, natural, sustainable, materials, and the extraordinary artists and craftspeople who continue to maintain the time-honored traditions of creating hand-crafted, rustic furniture and furnishings out of materials gathered from nature—branches, twigs, bark, stone, left in their most natural, unadulterated state. Throughout the house, you will find many examples of their work, such as beds made from logs, tables made from branches, twigs, bark, chairs and stools made from hickory limbs, twig and bark framed mirrors, as well as numerous touches of whimsy—genuine antler door knobs, pulls, and handles, antler chandeliers and light fixtures, lighting fixtures with images of moose, elk, deer, bear, wolves, animal-themed dinnerware, and beautiful elk antler rack, set above the Great Room fireplace. In short, we've strived to recreate a type of rustic, cozy mountain retreat we always envisioned we’d like to be able to escape to. Perhaps you too have envisioned how nice it would be to have a little secluded log cabin getaway place somewhere? If so, we would love to have you make our not so "little" home YOUR home away from home! *Please note all antlers and antler products used in our home were naturally shed, and whatever appears like leather and/or animal skins/fur is faux - no animals were harmed! Our home features soaring, two-story, vaulted ceilings, heavy exposed log beams throughout, custom-milled wide-plank heart pine and natural slate tile floors. The home is elegantly, yet comfortably furnished in the time-honored rustic, lodge-style of the Adirondack "Great Camps." There is a spacious, cozy screened-in porch, and expansive decking front and rear. MAIN LIVING AREA: A soaring, two-story, ceiling 32'x26' “Great Room,” the focal point of which is its massive Rumford-design wood-burning fireplace constructed with our own local stone gathered from the property. GOURMET KITCHEN: Highlighted by a state-of-the art residential restaurant-style range featuring six 23,000 BTU open-style gas burners, a 30,000 BTU thermo-griddle, two ovens (one with optional convection) and an 18,000 BTU infrared broiler. Honed black granite counter-tops are featured throughout. The expansive center-island features a built-in Viking microwave oven, trash compactor and stainless-steel prep sink. The main sink is over-sized in true restaurant-style and includes a waste disposal. BEDROOMS: There are two separate “Owner’s Suite” wings, each with a walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom. These bedrooms feature impressive two-story vaulted ceilings with exposed upper-story windowed dormers, lodge-style ceiling fans and sliding doors leading to semi-private covered porches and deck. Both bedroom suites feature sumptuous king-sized, all-natural, organic latex mattresses. The ensuite bathrooms have custom-built slate tile showers, with ceiling-mounted rain shower-style showerheads, in addition to handhelds. The east wing's shower is a stunning six-foot by six-foot walk-in, featuring Hansgrohe's extraordinary twenty-four-inch Raindance showerhead, providing an exhilarating natural rain shower-like shower experience! THIRD BEDROOM: A bunk room-style set-up, featuring two beautiful log-built twins over queen-sized bunk beds (sleeps 6). It has a large picture window, ceiling fan, and a wall-mounted flat screen TV. MAIN BATHROOM: Features a corner-style shower with steam option. DINING AREA: Features a large, rustic, custom crafted, bark-on hickory and curly maple dining table that expands to eleven feet, and seats twelve comfortably. The dining area chandelier is crafted of genuine whitetail deer antlers. UPSTAIRS LOFT: An expansive open space featuring vaulted, log-beamed ceiling, lodge-style ceiling fan, exterior balcony/deck, comfortable faux-leather, sleeper sofa with queen-sized mattress, custom-built bark-on hickory and oak daybed with trundle (sleeps 2), 60' flat screen TV, and a premium stereo sound system w/full range, floor standing speakers, high-speed, wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) and cable TV. Guest access Guests have access to all areas of the property, with the exception of the basement which is presently unfinished, and storage room in the upstairs loft. Other things to note Our kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc. All linens, towels, paper-goods—tissues, toilet tissue, paper towels, are provided. All you need is your toothbrush and shampoo! Firewood is provided in the winter.
