Cowboy guest house on the farm -bring your dog ! Work from here.
Enjoy a little Georgia country Nirvana! This is a one bedroom guest cabin on our farm. It is perfect for a weekend getaway or a longer stay for a personal retreat or remote working. Our farm is 31 acres near the Chickamauga Battlefield. Horse country within spitting distance of downtown Chattanooga. Escape to a quieter life for however long you can manage it. Gaze at the horses, chant with the cows, let the frogs sing you to sleep. Walk our trails, relax by the pond. Unforgettable. The space The guest cabin is a full one bedroom apartment with an extra sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen is complete with all the usual appliances and cooking needs and there is a shared laundry room and half bath available off the kitchen for guests to use. Originally built to serve as a bunkhouse for the attached barn, it has been remodeled in modern cowboy style with everything that you have at home: fast internet, RokuTV, an HDMI cable so you can hook up a laptop and watch any of your favorite channels on a bigger screen, DVD player, and a CD player with a library of music. Central air and heat keep the place comfortable but you can also enjoy the big electric fireplace (heat or no heat). The bedroom has a queen mattress, a walk in cedar closet and plenty of space for unpacking. Outside is a small front patio for morning coffee and a picnic table for dining al fresco. We leave coffee and tea and eggs for guests. Guest access Guests have access to the whole apartment downstairs. We are fine with guests using our grill in the yard and letting their dogs play there after the chickens have gone to bed. We have 6 fenced acres with a pond and friendly dogs, Rocco and Dakota. Rocco is a boxer/mastiff and Dakota is a boxer girl. Our pastures are great for walking, biking, and scenic views. The pond is available for contemplative moments or dog swimming, whichever you prefer. Our barnyard of goats, donkeys, and chickens provides lots of enjoyment. We have 6 goats, 5 donkeys, and many VERY free roaming chickens and some roosters. Yes, the roosters crow all day and the donks will get pretty loud if we are late with their dinner. Guests are welcome to visit with them all in the barn or at the fence. Please no feeding, but they all love to be petted. They are people friendly but we do ask that dogs not go into the area where they live. Pats and supervised cuddles are suggested! We have trails through our woods, too. There is a lot to do here if what you want is a getaway from the daily grind! Other things to note We have expanded our vacation rental capacity with the addition of our vintage camper set up behind the garage and guesthouse. It has its own regular space to use but camper guests also have access to the barn, pond, pastures, and woods. Please expect to encounter other guests who might be staying here at the same time. We apply the same outside quiet hours to all guests here on the farm. Camper guests may have their own pet with them. The laundry room with the half bath is shared with camper guests. That listing is Sweet Vintage camper in a fun farm setting. We have our own family of friendly pasture pets in the yard behind the barn--goats, chickens, and donkeys. They are fed twice a day and make some noise at that time. Our world is filled with animal hoots and hollers. Once in a while, we see a coyote in the back pasture. Always deer and rabbits. It's the country. Please note that we do charge a $20 pet fee per stay. Please let us know you are bringing pets--we arrange the space specifically for dogs when we know they are coming. We can add the fee from our end. We do allow cats but charge $30 each for them. If you need to charge an electric vehicle, we have a level 2 charger on site for $10 a day. FYI—we do have pet chickens that live in our yard peacefully with our dogs. Most dogs ignore them but some dogs can’t help but chase and capture. We always ask guests to keep their dog leashed until we can determine how they react to the birds. If their prey drive is too active, there are several safe places for them to run off leash where there are no chickens. Also please note that this is a great place for supervised children. The barnyard pets are friendly and there is room to run around. We ask that parents watch their children when playing outside for their safety. If you need more space, a second bedroom and bath, the entire Bunkhouse can be rented and is listed as Chickamauga Farm Stay. Be assured that we are following Airbnb's guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting between guest stays.
