Description

Marfa House, originally built as a railroad hotel in 1892, offers an oasis of comfortable accommodations in the heart of Marfa's historic center, only a short walk from galleries, restaurants, and shops. Bosque Bonito, a first-floor apartment, has a full kitchen and dining area with amenities to provide guests with meal-time options. It also features solid-wood beds, premium bedding, and original artwork. Also, guests may access our common gallery, second-floor balcony, and screened atrium. The space Bosque Bonito is a first-floor apartment with a queen bed bedroom and private bath, and a separate living room and a fully equipped kitchen/dining room with stove/oven, dishwasher, and full-sized refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker. Guests also have access to three common areas: the gallery/living room, the rear atrium with large-screen TV, and the second-floor front balcony. Guest access Bosque Bonito guests access the property by walking up the paved and lighted walkway to a gated courtyard at the rear of Marfa House, entering the screened atrium entry with a keycode, and into the downstairs hall with a keycode. The Bosque Bonito apartment is located on the first floor on the left as you enter. All guests have access to the common areas: the front gallery, the front balcony, and the screened atrium with firepit and a large-screen TV. Other things to note Marfa is a railroad town: established in 1883 as a water stop on the Southern Pacific Railroad. Marfa House was a railroad hotel and is still located 100 yards from the SP tracks. Trains pass through up to 12 times a day and sound their air horns at the three main crossings in town, so guests may hear TRAIN SOUNDS at any time of the day or night. Most of our guests are not bothered, and we believe this is part of the romance of West Texas.
