If you book before May 15, you can take advantage of current rates, making this an incredible value for your getaway! ☺️💛 The space ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bear Trap Lake and Lake Wapogasset: This cabin is directly located on Bear Trap Lake which is a 247 acre lake with a maximum depth of 25 feet. Bear Trap is directly connected to Lake Wapogasset which is a bit larger, coming in at 1,189 acres and a maximum depth of 32 feet. Both lakes feature public boat landings and excellent fishing. Within these waters fisherman can find Panfish (Common), Largemouth Bass (Common), Walleye (Common), Musky (Present) and Northern Pike (Present). These are some of the best fishing lakes in the area!!! Water access: The cabin does have a pretty flat backyard and pretty level with the water's edge. There is a slight incline from parking to the backyard area, but it is manageable. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Home layout: The upper level has two bedrooms--one with a queen size bed and other with a queen bed and a twin trundle bed. The main level has an open concept living and dining area with a bedroom that has a king size bed across from a full bathroom with a tub. The kitchen does include amenities like a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, and a coffeemaker. On the lower level you'll find another open family room with a wet bar and a bedroom that contains a queen sized and twin sized bed, again, across from another full bathroom. The home does have a washer and dryer on the lower level. The main level has a large deck with lots of outdoor seating! On shore you'll also find a couple of docks (when in season)! **The home is well stocked with everything you need: clean linens/towels/washcloths, all kitchen utensils, some basic cooking supplies, etc. ** ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amery: Amery, WI is a small community with just under 3,000 people and often referred to as “The City of Lakes”. Along with Lake Wapogasset and Bear Trap Lake, the city sits nestled in between North and South Twin Lake and the Apple River, as well as a few smaller bodies of water to the north. Amery has a cute little downtown that offers many restaurants, bars, a grocery store, and multiple gas station/c-stores, all within a 5 minute drive from the cabin! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Local Recreation: *Stower Seven Lakes State Trail: Not only does the lake offer ample fishing opportunities, but nearby you will find the Stower Trail which allows for all types of fun from walking, biking, snowmobiling, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing, It is a 14 mile limestone path trail. Trail starts at Soo Line Park on Harriman Avenue in Amery and passes through Deronda, Wanders, and Nye, ending about a mile from Dresser on 90th Ave by Lotus Lake. *Cattail Trail: An 18 mile trail on a former rail corridor between the communities of Amery and Almena in northwestern Wisconsin--at the end of the trail you will find that it connects with other trails to go on a longer adventure! It starts in Amery, right off the Stower Trail behind the Fire Hall. It is an all-access trail that is open year around for ATV's, snowmobiles, off road motorcycles, as well as walking, biking, and horseback riding. Other winter fun: In addition to the above trails to use, the local lake association also maintains a skiing loop that goes around the lake--something that can be skied, snowshoed, or even walked. Other summer fun: The cabin does offer a complimentary canoe with any rental! Guest access ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most of the home is accessible with the exception of the garage and a few closet areas, where personal belonging are kept, and/or potentially hazardous items like cleaning supplies. Any secured spaces have visible locks, so they are easy to identify. Other things to note ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The property is maintained as a cabin, so you may see everything that comes with that, like an occasional spider. With the property being so close to the water, bugs of all sorts (and wildlife) may present themselves from time to time. The shore water quality in front of the cabin varies all summer depending on things like temperature/light/wind, so expect a natural swimming area--clearer swim spots can be found a bit beyond the dock. The dock is removed around the beginning of October to sometime in May--depending on weather and availability. It is placed on the shore of the property during the winter months. :)
