This guesthouse is in a 16th-century country house on the lower slopes of Sintra’s hills, just 2 miles outside Sintra. It has a swimming pool surrounded by a tree-shaded garden. Quinta de São Thiago features rustic rooms decorated with wooden furniture. All rooms have a bathroom with bathtub, while some rooms have balconies with views of the grounds. The Quinta Thiago offers a well-stocked library and a music room available for dancing. As its historic function was as a residence for monks, there still is an in-house chapel. From the guesthouse, steps lead down to the grounds pool surrounded by deck chairs. Guests can bathe in the sun or read a book while enjoying the peaceful garden. There is also a tennis court. Cabo da Roca lighthouse, marking the most westerly point of Europe, is only a 20-minute drive away. Lisbon is 19 miles away.
