The space The Apartment @ Alkira is privately situated on the lower ground floor of Alkira Lodge. Private garden and private access. Surrounded only by sky, the freshest air, and endless horizons, Alkira Lodge offers guests access to privacy, nature and nurturing for the soul. A small complement of discrete and well trained staff to take care of your every need and to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the lodge. Guests can relax and enjoy their stay with confidence. Offering only 6 rooms in total and not open to the public, there is plenty of discrete space for everyone and guests can choose whether or not to interact with fellow travelers, to dine in room, privately or in the many inside and outside dining spaces. Sophisticated contemporary design reflects the breath-taking natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. High ceilings and large windows and doors that fold away flood interiors with light and accentuate the sweeping views. Perched on the brow of Knysna's famous Western Head, floating at the feet of the heavens, surrounded by the ever-changing canvas of the Southern African skies and home to abundant bird-life, shy antelope, endangered butterflies and a rich variety of local fauna and rare Fynbos. Spectacular views of the beautiful Garden Route and the town of Knysna across the hills, the lake, and pristine white beaches all framed by the majestic Outeniqua mountains and the endless horizon beyond. Easy access to some of the most beautiful, unspoilt, white sand beaches in Southern Africa, wonderful walking for all abilities, and an easy 10 to 15 minute drive to access all the local activities and restaurants in the town centre. Guest access The Apartment space is entirely private and for the exclusive use of the Apartment guests. Guests also have access to Alkira Lodge, with indoor and outdoor dining options, bar, cellar, library, TV rooms, work space and numerous outdoor lounge spaces. The lodge accommodates a maximum of 12 guests and spacious wooden decks, sunloungers, an infinity pool and hot tub Jacuzzi, gardens and shady verandas provide options to relax, unwind and enjoy the soothing tranquillity and warm sunshine surrounded by nature’s beauty. The Lodge kitchen is not accessible to guests although we do serve delicious breakfast cooked to order and dinner for those who choose to stay in and enjoy drinks overlooking the setting sun.
