It's a place where you can fish, sightsee, or relax with your family and friends. Enjoy boating and excellent fishing year around on this 8,850-acre fresh water lake. Much of the northern shoreline is part of Talquin State Forest, with its many hiking trails throughout the surrounding hills. Lake Talquin provides excellent fishing for several species of fish, including bass, bream, shell cracker, crappie, and catfish. You can try your luck from your boat or our dock while watching the abundant wildlife including, deer, alligators, white squirrels and bald eagles. The locals consider Talquin the best fresh water fishing lake in Florida for year-round action. As soon as you drive up to the well-maintained yards with an abundance of fruit and flowering trees and other Florida plants, you will immediately get the impression of what awaits you here. You can launch your boat across the street at the free public boat launch ramp at Whippoorwill Sportsman's Lodge. Also across the street at Ingram’s Marina, you can buy gas, bait, and fishing licenses. Ingram’s also has a RV campground with full hookup that accommodates any size RV. We welcome you to visit and enjoy our family’s lake house property, with management just minutes away to provide any assistance if needed. At Talquin Tranquility, you will be well-connected with Free Unlimited Wireless Internet Service and free local calls, plus Dish satellite TV with DVR and extended channels. Our rates vary by season and by the number of guests and the cottage will sleep up to 8 guests. The master bedroom is quite large and also has a satellite TV. The 2 other bedrooms are small but comfortable. A high-quality sleeper sofa in the living room provides the comfort of any queen size bed with a memory foam mattress without any springs! The closets in two bedroom are locked owner's closets however, there is room to store clothes in the chest of drawers in each bedroom. There are two full bathrooms, one in the MBR and one adjacent to the other two bedrooms. The large screened front porch is a wonderful place to have your morning coffee and afternoon drinks or dinner. The porch overlooks the lake and the bulkheaded waterfront with a three-stall boat house, which has two fishing piers and a fish cleaning table with running water. It is also has electricity with lights and plugins for charging your boat batteries. There are several orange trees on the property with the fruit being ripe in December or January of most years. The house is well equipped with many kitchen condiments and two types of coffee makers with coffee and snacks furnished for our guest’s enjoyment. Fishing is usually always great, but the tranquility of the lake and property can be enjoyed year around, so the next time you are ready for a getaway, give us a try and become one of our many repeat visitors. Guest access You are renting the entire lakeside cottage on a half acre lot, so feel free to bring your boat, and dock it in our boathouse, which is equipped with electricity to charge your trolling motor and lights to clean you fish at the dockside cleaning table when you get back a little late from a day of great fishing. Other things to note This is Florida, and the "Gators" were here first, so we don't allow any swimming or playing in their water from our dock. This might interfere with their "grocery shopping" in their water, and could ruin your trip. Also, please don't feed them as, they might think you are inviting them to come onto your turf, and that also, would not be good. So please watch them from a distant and let them stay in their environment.
