Our cottage, built in 1940, is both warm and inviting. Located directly on the Toccoa River inside the city limits, this home has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, and is simply perfect for couples or families who want to explore McCaysville, Blue Ridge and the Copper Basin area. The Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad track is just across the road from the house. It's a favorite activity to step outside and wave when you hear the train whistle! The space The home has a living/dining room combo area, a breakfast table in the kitchen, 2 bedrooms downstairs and 2 bedrooms upstairs. The upstairs is a unique throwback to 1950 with beautiful original pine paneling. The home has two bathrooms, one that has a shower only and the other with a shower/tub combo. Both bathrooms are on the main level. There is also a laundry area with a washer and dryer. The greatest amenity is the beautiful Toccoa River which is just 42' from the home. Guest access Full access to the house. Other things to note Our cottage is about 40 feet from the banks of the Toccoa River. Children and non-swimmers must be supervised carefully at all times. The flow of the river varies, as it is fed by the TVA Blue Ridge Dam. Guests can check the generation schedule for the dam on the TVA website. When the dam begins generating, it takes about 4 hours and 45 minutes for the rising water to arrive in McCaysville. The river is deep behind the cottage. Fishing from the bank is a favorite pastime for guests. There are stone steps all the way to the river to make kayaking , tubing, and swimming easy. Horseshoe Bend Park is about 1.25 miles away from the cottage and the McCaysville City Park is a similar distance as well. Both parks have playgrounds for children and picnic areas for families to enjoy. If you enjoy tubing, the trip from Horseshoe Bend park to the cottage is a lot of fun!
