Spacious, dog friendly Yorkshire Dales cottage

The House on the Hill sits close by St. Margaret's Church in Hawes, at the head of beautiful Wensleydale. This traditional, stone built cottage has been carefully modernised and provides attractive and comfortable accommodation. This is such a characterful property and is ideally located in the heart of Hawes. We are approximately 200 yards from the centre of Hawes and only 30 seconds walk to the nearest pub! The space Our holiday home comes with 2 bedrooms, (one double, one twin), a comfortable lounge with large flat screen TV, fully equipped dining kitchen, family bathroom with bath, shower, sink and toilet plus a separate WC. Please note, we don’t recommend our cottage for the under 2’s as we don’t have a high chair or stair gates and our lovely log burner is unguarded. All rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished with high quality fixtures and fittings. In colder months, the Aga log burner is just the thing for cozy nights in after taking in all that fresh Dales air. We will leave you wood and firelighters for your first night. The 42” flat screen smart TV has Freeview and access to Netflix, prime video, YouTube etc. (account sign-in may be required). The dual aspect kitchen is spacious and light and has everything guests could need for a comfortable stay. The large dining table can easily seat six people. The kitchen also houses the dedicated workspace which has a view straight out onto the Dales. With power, desk light and comfy chair, anyone wishing to ‘work from home’ can do so in the tranquil surroundings of the famously beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The bathroom has a bath with electric shower over, toilet, sink and airing cupboard and a lovely view of the church from the shuttered window. Both bedrooms have Bluetooth speaker / radios. Although we are dog friendly, guests are requested to restrict furry friends to downstairs rooms only and not on the furniture. Important note: our property is STRICTLY NON-SMOKING. any evidence of this direction being broken will incur extra charges via Airbnb. Guest access Guests will have access to all of the property. Our rear yard is adjacent to our lovely neighbours' yard and has no physical boundary, therefore guests are requested not to let dogs 'wander' onto their property. Please don't use our rear yard for dogs to 'do their business,’ instead, turn right out of the front door and walk up the hill, and in 30 seconds you’ll be on the Pennine way. Other things to note From the front of our cottage you can see the rolling Hills of the Yorkshire Dales. We also have a small yard at the rear with a small table and chairs. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the cottage and the mobile phone signal is good. **Parking** We do NOT have our own parking space on The Hill so we ask guests to park on the High Street which is less than a minute away. By all means park up to load luggage/ kids/ dogs etc. but we like to leave the small cobbled area clear for resident’s access to their spaces and also deliveries, bin lorries etc. There are a couple of pay and display car parks also very close by and for longer stays, we recommend a weeks ticket as they are valid in all council car parks across the district.
