This is a beautiful vacation home on Captiva Island - just a few minutes walk from the pool, the beach, world class boating & fishing, local shopping & amazing restaurants. Our home, with a new roof, is back to where we were before hurricane Ian. The island has not had red tide. We have a small citrus grove behind the house and an extensive orchid collection. The beach is extraordinary and extends for miles. The wildlife here is incredible. This is a great vacation home. For families with young children, we have 2 pack-n-plays, a high chair and a baby monitor available. Fishing rods and tackle are included with the house- and there is great fishing right off our dock. If you are a boater, we have a free slip available for boats under 26'. Sunset Captiva is a quiet community on Captiva Island, located near Sanibel Island. It is connected by bridge and causeway to the mainland, and is about an hour and a half from the Southwest Florida Int'l Airport (RSW). We are new to airbnb, but we have been renting through other sites for years. Here's a sample review: "Barely 24 hours into our stay, we reserved for the same period in 2018 because we were delighted with the Adlers' house and the attention to detail that is evident instantly and which made our three-week stay so agreeable. Bob and Andy's house in the Village of Captiva is ideally situated in the Sunset Captiva multi-street cul de sac of condos--close to village shops and restaurants, swimming pool, beach and library but also quiet and off the main road. The house was immaculate, the decor is simple and tasteful, the kitchen is well stocked with nice quality cooking equipment, dishes, appliance and so on, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are also very well appointed. Good laundry facilities, lots of storage space and places for reading, including an outdoor deck and one beautiful screened porch that gives the illusion of being in a tree house as it overlooks a lush setting of fruit trees, orchid specimen and palms. The community dock, across the street, is home to many manatees and we spent hours watching these adorable creatures who enchant merely by blowing water and rolling over. The pride the Adlers take in their Captiva home is evident and well-deserved. We can't wait to return."
