Located on 3.5 acres of rural bliss in the alpine village of Maydena, we offer a perfect base to explore this rare & untamed natural wilderness region. Maydena is home to Maydena Bike Park & gateway to Tasmania’s World Heritage listed wilderness national parks. Explore our unique attractions then relax in one of our beautiful cabins with breathtaking views across the alpacas fields, forest & Mt Field National Park mountains beyond. Rejuvenate in nature & breathe the cleanest air in the world. Popular with small family groups with up two children our compact two bedroom self-contained timber cabin features a large deck, BBQ, and an outdoor setting with stunning rural and mountain views. There is a double bed in one bedroom and the second bunk room has two single beds. The small cozy living area features a kitchenette with a 2-burner stovetop, electric frypan, microwave, full-sized fridge, sofa and dining table along with a smart TV, free NBN wifi and airconditioning. The small ensuite bathroom includes a shower, but no bath and free toiletries. If you are travelling with an infant that sleeps in your own bed or you bring your own portable cot there is no extra charge. If however an infant or child requires a bed then please add them in your guest count when you book. If you are travelling as couple, we can also offer you two other more spacious options with larger beds listed below: 1) The Rose cabin listed on Airbnb as "Maydena Mountain View King Cabin & Alpacas" with premium king bed, a large chaise lounge and smart TV, NBN internet, a kitchenette with full sized fridge and ensuite bathroom etc or 2) The garden apartment also with mountain views listed on AirBNB as "Maydena Mountain View Garden Apartment". This apartment is spacious with a queen bed and separate living room, large chaise lounge, NBN internet, large smart TV, kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. Stevan and Jo live on the property as they love to meet and greet all their guests. They will check you in, answer any questions you may have and from then on you won't see them unless you need assistance for any reason. The cabins are discretely positioned on the property with the alpacas grazing in the fields next to the cabins. Maydena is the gateway to the "Western Wilds", a UNESCO World Heritage wilderness region where the scenery and attractions are spectacular including: - Mt Field National Park - TassieBound Adventure Tours - Maydena Mountain Bike Park - Junee Caves - Marriotts Falls - Styx Giant Trees Reserve, Styx Valley - The Twisted Sister walk in the Florentine - The Creepy Crawly Walk - The Gordon River Road Scenic Drive to Strathgordon, Lake Pedder, Lake Gordon and Gordon Dam - The Scotts Peak Dam Road Scenic Drive - Abseil the Gordon Dam - Trout Fishing - Railtrack Riders - Salmon Ponds Maydena Mountain Cabins & Alpacas are located 1 hour and 15 minutes scenic drive west of Hobart in the small alpine village of Maydena. Maydena Bike Park is a 5-minute walk from the property, and Mt Field National Park is only a 10-minute drive away. Please add your mobile number to your booking as we will send you a pre-arrival text message just before you arrive with important information on how to access your accommodation and check in details as there is no reception office on the property. There are limited groceries in Maydena and during winter the cafe and restaurants are only open part of the week. This text message will include a link with all your food and dining options from groceries, and what is open or closed during your stay. The link also includes lots of local attractions which will keep you busy for days if your stay allows time. In the meantime please send us a message if you have any questions at all.
