While you’re out and about why not visit The Woolpack pub which is known locally as one of the best pubs in the Cotswolds and is famous for being frequented by Laurie Lee. Peglars Barn is on the Laurie Lee Wildlife Way and a map is available within the property. Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust owns four beautiful nature reserves in the Slad Valley called Frith Wood Snows Farm Swifts Hill and thanks to a very successful fundraising appeal the new Laurie Lee Wood. The Laurie Lee Wildlife Way takes in all four Nature Reserves and the trail is marked by wooden posts carved with the famous authors poems. People come from all over Europe to see the beauty of these valleys. If you fancy going a little further afield you will find Tetbury, Cirencester, Cheltenham with its regency charm, as well as Stroud, Painswick, Gloucester and the rest of the Cotswolds right on your doorstep
