The space Property Enjoy our mesmerizing Rincón beach house with unparalleled ocean front access and views. Sun-filled, cozy 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom bungalow directly on the ocean (enjoy amazing trade winds year round!) with private guest access, parking, fully equipped kitchen, and ample indoor and outdoor living spaces. Internet is high-speed, and there is a smart TV (Netflix-ready!). This home is one of a kind, located both on the ocean AND within a short drive from the center of downtown Rincón, Puerto Rico, the surf capital of the Caribbean, with a diverse offering of shops, markets, restaurants, bars, and other exciting cultural activities. Please kindly note, although we have extraordinarily positive guest reviews, this is not a luxury resort or hotel with lavish accommodations. This is our actual beach home in an authentic, western Boricua neighborhood, and we enjoy sharing it on Airbnb with friendly, easy going travelers that are seeking to unwind in one of the most laid back towns in PR, Rincón. If you’re seeking a five-star, luxury hotel or resort experience for your vacation, our home may likely not align with your expectations, and we kindly encourage you to explore other local options. Cancellations We understand that life happens. As a small business providing local employment, we hope that you understand our need to maintain a consistent cancellation policy. We recommend purchasing trip insurance that covers expenses from last-minute cancellations of lodging and transportation due to theft, medical, etc. or changes in your life circumstances. Airbnb and Travel Guard offer affordable options to ensure you're covered in the event of the unexpected. Pests Please note that since we are located on a tropical island, from time to time you may see a dead bug or two in the cottage, especially with warmer and warmer temperatures. This is normal, to be expected and cannot be avoided. Doors should remain closed when possible to minimize pests (i.e. when loading/unloading the car, taking out the trash or hanging out on the porch). Bugs can get inside easily, especially in warmer weather. The cottage is treated inside & out by a pest control company for your comfort and safety. We stay on top of this costly pest control so please help us keep it effective - thank you! Local Animals We love animals and rescued a Puerto Rican “sato” (stray dog), however we kindly ask that you do not feed any stray cats or dogs that are encountered in and around the property. If you feed them they stay and persistently seek more food which becomes difficult and uncomfortable for us as hosts and for other guests, especially those with severe allergies to animals. Let us know if you’d like to rescue a dog or cat, and we can help you! Guest access Guests have full and complete access to this private home nestled by the seashore. Please note, there is an adjacent, private cottage also located on the backside of this long, ocean-front property, and each home has private, ocean-facing decks, reserved parking onsite, and completely different beach access points. Anyone accessing the second cottage enters by going down and behind this cottage so as not to interrupt or disturb guests' enjoyment of the private deck or ocean views. Additionally, each guest home features privacy deck screens and window shades for an added level of comfort and peace. Other things to note The ocean is your backyard and playground, come prepared to enjoy it comfortably! Plan to bring swim shoes for the shoreline, sunblock or sunscreen, a hat and sun glasses, and insect repellent (if bugs tend to bother you in tropical climates). Also, if you’d like to explore the underwater rocks and reefs, pack yourself snorkel gear. Beach towels to be used on the property are provided to guests.
